Don't look cm-12.0 branch of jf-common tree, some important things to boot Lollipop aren't yet done.

By the way, I booted Lollipop on my i9505. :victory:

There are problems with display driver that cause weird issues, I'm trying to fix them now.

If you want, you can follow me on Twitter, I share any progress there.

Surely the point of this thread is to share such work...

Do you know of the the ril works yet?
Or does that come after the display driver is fixed?

I don't understand if you're saying "well done" or "it's not the right thread"

Yes,well done. :good:

Please post your findings/links/requirements here on XDA ,so that other users can benefit/try/test it out as well.

The whole point of this thread is to move this project forward.
Users should not have to go to twitter to find out what is going on.

:)

It's compiled from source, using CM11 kernel and modified CM11 device tree (I'll push sources on GitHub as soon as I get an usable build)

Are we going to have to hack one or do we wait until we get a google play edition of the ROM from Samsung?

CM guys will do it...:)

RIL will be broken until doesn't come a SamsungQualcommRIL class Lollipop-compatible

I think Malybru wants you to share the work you've done so far, so other devs can benefit from your development.
But I thinks that's totally up to you, and not for anyone else to decide :D

So the unmodified version of the CM11 kernel works?

Yep, it's needed only a little modification in defconfig, enable loadable modules support.

Code:
# CONFIG_MODULES is not set

to

Code:
CONFIG_MODULES=y

Otherwise will break the build process

EDIT: I forgot to say that the kernel from CM11 sources works, but needs to be compiled through Lollipop's build system. There are some other changes required (in device tree, ramdisk part [the rootdir folder]) to build L-compatible kernel

The one into picture is CM12, but I reached the same with AOSP 5. :)

At the moment, official CM12 is almost "pure" AOSP (i.e. a few changes only)

My friend, I can't wait for this...only mods I care about are power menu, accurate battery, and app permissions...other than that, its all eye candy...keep up the good work and I'm more than willing to test for you

I'm just pointing to an usable build for now (even if with broken RIL and other bugs that will be alive). :)

You're great dude! I'd prefer AOSP 5 because cm12 will have more options and changements in future. But it's your call!
Thank you so much!

My CM12 will be unofficial, and will surely be available an official one, about AOSP... If boots, it's mine :)

    Android L Port for Samsung GT-I9505 Galaxy S 4
    based on ISF's Project! http://xdaforums.com/member.php?u=4581600

    Android-lollipop.jpg

In this stage, the port can only be installed succesfully on our device. It isn't even booting up. I`m asking kernel developers to make a sample for Android L based on Google Sources. Then I will try my best to fix what problems will appear. Thank you in advance.

    What is working?

    - Installation process 100% (No errors)
    - Bootanimation

What has been done until now?

    - Got the Base(SlimKAT 6.0 STABLE) and the PORT (flashable .zip of N5 Android L Developer Preview)
    - Deleting /app, /priv-app, /media, /framework, /fonts from BASE and replace them with the ones from PORT. They will need further optimisations.
    - Fixing permissions acording to the ones from Android L Developer Preview
    - Fixing build.prop settings
    - Fixing updater-script since it gave lots of installation erros
    - Building the main ALPHA .zip
    - Got a logcat from booting which I`m gonna post it down below
    - That's it for now

What is needed for further development?

    - [REQ] Custom ANDROID L Kernel for I9505
    - /system tweaks - I will do them after the first complete boot
    - I`m asking developers to take a look on the logcat below. There seems to be some problems with .lib files

    Installation Instructions

    1. You must be ROOTED.
    2. You must run latest TWRP or CWM Recovery.
    3. IT IS A PRIORITY TO MAKE A NANDROID BACKUP FIRST!
    4. WIPE ALL
    5. Flash .zip in recovery.
    6. Reboot and enjoy the beautiful animation. At least for now...

Should I make new threads and upload bootable (but not usable due to display issue, you'll see the same thing in my picture of Friday) builds of AOSP 5 and unofficial CM12 now even with that problem?

It's Sunday today and I'm free, I'll work on Lollipop. I want an usable build till this evening. :)
