The DNS is hardcoded to Google servers. But I still can not find a way to use it when no Google internet connection available. After all, I'm a user from China, I can not access google directly.
If you are rooted with Eureka-ROM, you can change the DNS.
But some applications still try to use Google DNS servers.
As far as I know the rotation follows the device. Now I'm looking for a workaround to get the image (both in portrait and landscape) to be displayed in horizontal, filling the entire screen and ignoring the fact that the actual position may be in portrait.
Have you tried Rotation Lock Adaptive (Free) or Rotation Locker ?
I know it's opposite from what you want, but one of them got my normally-portrait applications showing up letterboxed on my landscape tablet, so it might work the opposite way on your portrait phone.
Filling the screen does require some scaling (and cropping if you want it to stay in the correct aspect ratio), so I'm not sure if that will work though.
