I hadn't seen, it but that is weird. I was using KCAL too. I get the "overlay detected issue" which won't go away until I disable CF Lumen's overlay ability. I went KCAL because ChainFire noted that the Root driver causes bootloops and ain't nobody got time fo' dat.

The overlay probably doesn't get removed correctly in some cases. But I can't really test that until I get CF.lumen running properly again on my device in the first place.

It's high on my list.

KCAL works with the overlay permission disabled. I guess that makes sense since the app is changing color values via the kernel rather than via overlay.

Not really. I had the new safer method mostly working on Lollipop, but it has completely fallen apart on Marshmallow. Been trying to fix that for days, no luck yet.

Good news everyone!

Just had the first successful test of the new root driver (which doesn't require modifying /system) on M. It'll still be a while before I can release a test version, but at least we're getting closer (after being stuck for a while).

Awesome, hopefully you'll have the same luck soon with SuperSU not needing modified boot image. Just got the OS update on my nexus 5. Need a stable SuperSU and cf.lumen
