You should only flash a ROM that has the same or newer bootloader for your phone.

Normally, I recommend installing TWRP and flashing a custom ROM to determine the modem and bootloader on your phone.

I assume the phone is an AT&T i337 which means you would need to follow instructions to install safestrap and install a suitable TW-based ROM to at least get the phone running with a workable ROM.

Im stuck at //Firmware upgrade encountered// only download mode works. I thought safestrap only works by only in apk, is there a different way to install safestrap? . Now i just want to bring the phone back. And again, thank you bro.

Sir do you think this would work http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...&postcount=201 ?
We have the same error. I'm downloading the NB1 now.

Edit: i tried the emergency method from previous thread and flash this via odin //mf3-emergency-part-1.tar.md5.7z//
Then i ddnt get the error system.img.ext4 WILL FAIL, the flashing stop on NON-HLOS.bin.
Edit: Flashing I337UCUFNB1_4.4_Stock_Odin_tar by sir muniz_ri WORKED! Thanks

Bricked i377 unable to flash with Odin, Help please!!
Here's my story with my i337. Just had this phone for 2 days. When I first turned it on it went straight to the Downloading screen. I thought it bricked but it wasn't. I restarted the phone and this time I push cancel restart. Great it worked. The owner said he had installed a custom rom. Didn't look custom though. It was rooted but not properly so I was able to fix that and install Flashfire. I started a backup with Flashfire which froze before it even got to the flashing screen. Then it froze at bootup on the AT&T logo and proceeded to give errors saying basically that everything had stopped working. Only the volume button and the power button worked. This happened repeatedly so I gave up and started watching vidoes and reading this thread. I read the entire thread.

I as just trying to get any rom on it. Like everyone that is reading this thread just want my phone to work. I have rooted and flashed a lot of phones going back to 2012.

So here is what I know about the phone:
SGH-i337
Kit-kat 4.4.4 quite sure
was rooted with superSU
it has no recovery on start up (not stock or custom) - never seen that before
it has safestrap on the phone but not enabled
all of the developer options and usb options are on- or at least they were before it bricked
I can only load into "Downloading" mode

Ok, so far I have tried the All-in-one file numerous times- failed everytime.
Also tried the four separate files numerous times- failed everytime.
I tried installing the bootloader file on Post#3 once- failed
I tried to install the stockrecovery file on post #3 once- failed - because like I said it has no recovery that I can access or see.

After doing all this for probably 6-7 hours (reading, watching videos, and flashing) and it is 4:00 am here in Miami, I have to quit for now. Ran out of ideas.
As you can see in the pictures Odin always stops at >FAIL! (DeviceInfo) I can only assume that means it checks the device and finds out I am using the wrong files for the system that is already on the phone. Or maybe because it can't find the recovery file. I don't know. Oh and Yes my phone connects instantly and I pull out the battery often to clear any left over flash residue after my fails.
I've attached photos to provide more information.

MK2, NJ4, NB1 ????? lost
Sorry, I know I just posted but I forgot to ask something. Is there a cheat sheet somewhere that explains what each acronym is for like MK2, NJ4, NB1 and so on. Man I just get lost with all of these and I would like to be in the know. Just point me in the right direction I have no problem reading. I searched and couldn't find one.
