If you dont see it I suggest you dont upgrade to a newer one, in case the newer one does not work on your unit and be stuck with something not working like a knob or button...

My new GS unit, looks like that means UG Electronics Ltd., has a newer MCU version I don't see listed here.

PF73AA3AR (XTRONS)
SN: 000D18A15208
MCU Version: MTCB-GS-V2.73 ; August 13 2015
Android Version: 4.4.4_26082015
Build Number: rk3188-eng4.4.4 26082015
CPU: ARM Cortex-A9 @ 1.6GHz (x4)
Memory: 1024MB

I have asked XTRONS for the MCU, and the KitKat image that came with the unit... but they are totally playing dumb.

I would wait for them, or if youre feeling lucky like I did, just install update.img, no mcu.img

Nothing to do with luck, you can install MCU and update.image separately, always have been able to.

You did not understand what I said. I told him to either wait for the stock rom to be available or try his luck and only install update.img

I read in the Wiki that the 2-letter seems to infer the maker. My actual unit came in a factory fresh box from UG Electronics, with a pretty XTRONS box inside... which leads me to believe UG is the actual manufacturer of these units. Just a hunch really.

Thanks dude, I ended up putting the Malaysk ROM on the unit the second day I had it installed. I was just trying to get the MCU image for the community. This system has some interesting features like DIS CanBus display, vehicle emblem load screens, and apparently a better Bluetooth module (my mic and volume sound good).

Ah, I see, interesting, thanks for the info, although I d expect the MCU to be something like "UGE" if they were the manufacturers.

I understood you perfectly and like I said, there is no "luck" involved - you do not have to install the MCU and update.image together.

Can you post pics ? - all units have had vehicle emblem load screens and some form of CAN Bus display since they came out - I m interested to see if theyve been updated.

Calm down dear - using the word "luck" suggested it may not work.

He mentioned it was a unit that the mcu thread had no mcu.img, so I would call it lucky if it works... like everything here, its use at your own risk.
