E: No system.img.gz found in folder 'system_image' in toolkit directory.
The thing is i've already copyed the file "OS_Acer_Acer.AV051.B1-A71.RV05RC05.WW.GEN1_A41J_A.zip" that i downloaded from here.
I've followed all the steps carefully and I don't know what's wrong.
Can somebody help me please?!

Need help with my tablet.
Hi, I bought my A1-80 a while back and I want to root it now. some time ago I tried to update to kitkat from about update but just got (and still do get) Update service temporarily unavaliable Status code: 1001. so that was out of the option, I put a microsd card into my tablet and downloaded the jellybean image from acer's site in hope that might get it working nope! when i tried to update from sd I got an error something to do with keys and the update was "acer-test-keys" and my tablet was "acer-test-k" here is a screenshot of my About tablet area: XDA won't let me post links yet so here it is i . imgur.com/dcGW6RL .png I was confused about which image thing to pick on here because my tablet says RV03RC08_WW_GEN1 but on here there is no RV03RC08_WW_GEN1 just a RV03RC08 image, Is that what I should use?

I guess so. If you have trouble updating, just use sp flash tool.
- download your system.img.gz and extract the "system.img"
- get Flash-Tool from here. http://www.mediafire.com/download/8m...ck+and+CWM.rar
- navigate to drivers and install the MTK drivers, you might need to turn off the driver verification
- if drivers are installed correctly, navigate to SPFT open Flash-tool.exe
- in flash-tool open "scatter loading" and choose "/810 Unlock and CWM/MT6589_Android_scatter_emmc.txt" file
- uncheck everything (Preloader, Recovery) and check on "Android" and then choose your system.img
- press download, turn your tablet OFF and then connect to your PC
- wait until you see the green circle

1. copy system.img in sdcard (link to system image http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...postcount=2897)
2. Insert sdcard in tablet
3. connect the tablet to your PC in meta mode and establish the adb connection following the advice given in the post

4. in the adb shell write the following commands:

cd mnt/sdcard2
dd if=/mnt/sdcard2/system.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p3

Hi, it doesn't work for some reason Maui and MTK Driod Tool both recognise it but the commands which you wrote doesn't work as the message in adb shell says 'Permission Denied'. The system.img is on the sd card and I tried to root it using MTK Driod Tools but it was unsucessfull. Any help?

Got the same problem as AlimaneDz does!

My image version is RV03RC08_WW_GEN1. Can I use the RV03RC08 image or not? If not, where can I found the correct version?

No menu when pressing "Power off" + "volume up", Acer Iconia A1-810
My tablet wont open. Also I cannot format it. While opening it shows acer logo for a while and then, this image (imgur [dot] com/LQPfOyC ) and auto reboots and repeats all these again and again.
Can anybody give me steps to fix it??

you can connect the tablet to your PC in meta mode and establish the adb connection , yet i'm not sure that the following commands will work for you because i'm stuck at : cannot open for write: Permission denied
Code:
cd mnt/sdcard2
dd if=/mnt/sdcard2/system.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p3
see here how to connect in meta mode and download the attached Files :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...postcount=2868
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...postcount=2854
Download Meta Mode
Good luck
