Any solution to this?

This is starting to go off topic, you probably need to start a new thread in Q&A.....You will need to tell us which variant of the S5 you have, and what Android version you are using.....

im asking this for a bro of mine who likes Knox, and uses it.

but he told me he couldnt access Knox (he got the message otherOs has been installed< something like that) and so i told him to check in Download Mode whether it shows 0x0 in the Knox field.

he checked on it and it says 0x1 (4) <<<< i believe this means it has been tripped? and i told him to check whether the phone has root, he downloaded root checker etc. and it stated "Root not found, Phone is not rooted" so how did this happen.

'Out of the box'?
As in brand new from a shop?
If yes......then NO, tripped knox is FAR from normal......
If it came from a retailer, then your bro has purchased a 'refurbished' device.....

All the evidence that devs like Chainfire have been able to get hold of points in that direction. And my money's on what Chainfire says over what anybody else on this thread says.....He knows (and has probably had to unlearn) more about android than all of us on this thread put together.....

I read in the galaxy note 3 section I believe that a user took his phone to Samsung for repair and his warranty bit was tripped. When he got it back it was reset to 0. So it seems Samsung has a tool that can reset it. As for us getting our hands on it is another matter. Here's the link to the thread (I think) http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...2504258&page=3

My apologies - but everyone on XDA just says EU EU EU, so I got used to saying EU to tell people KNOX isn't voided in UK.

Trust me, KNOX 0x1 doesn't void warranty in UK. Most likely not anywhere else in EU.

Too good to be true. Which isn't true anyway.

If it's an eFuse like the best xda devs (Chainfire) think it is, then you can flash whatever you want, however you want, but it still won't 'repair' the fuse. Knox will remain tripped.
