I'd go with the latest, i.e. Marshmallow.

I tried, it did not work for me, had TWRP v2.7.02
its ok, Verizon cloud backed up everything but the apps

If anyone is like me and likes reading changelogs, I was coming from an old version (2.7.1.0) and couldn't for the life of me find a complete changelog for TWRP on the internet. I finally went through multiple versions of this topic on TheWaybackMachine, here's a text file if anyone's interested:

(P.S. Lol, guys, stop deleting your changelog! You're supposed to log your changes )

I am currently running KK 4.4.2, and the last TWRP version that works is 2.8.1, which I have. I'm researching what I need/want to upgrade , but will upgrade to something soon. So the question is, with versions of KK444, LL501, or MM6, which TWRP versions are recommended for those firmwares?
Thanks

TWRP 2.8.7 is recommended for KK 4.4.4 and LP ROMs.

TWRP 3.0.0 and up is needed for MM ROMs.

Also, updating TWRP is not enough. If you try any ROMs with the version base you mention, you will not boot, or WiFi will be broken. You need to update your firmware (hboot, radio, etc.) first.

Hi, touch control on htc one m8 verizon (m8wlv)
using the TWRP is not working well. I'm completely unable to control the device with my fingers.
Options keep selecting automatically whenever I pass my fingers on the touch screen making it impossible for me to select an option.
I've tried all version of TWRP for the htc m8 but same issues.

This doesn't sound like a TWRP problem. It sounds like a hardware issue (or a poorly designed case).
