Hi all.

Thank you I've managed to successfully root my samsung homesync.

The only thing that I wish I could fix is the homesync app on my samsung s5.

Since performing a factory reset on my samsung s5 the homesync app has been unable to find my device. This was not a result of the root but was happening prior.

I've noted that the app has additional permissions that don't seem to stay on when I've turned them on.

I've managed to install a third party remote droidmote in the meantime but I would prefer to use the homesync app.

If anyone can assist that would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Save yourself the trouble and just get a wireless keyboard and mouse. It makes the device so much more enjoyable

I know this thread is very old but i´ve found the gt b9150 at the attic of my parents house. Is it possible to connect the Box via USB 3.0 to my pc to use it as an external drive? Or is the micro USB connector the only (and very slow) way to connect the box with my PC?
Has anyone experience with disassambly this device to rescue the HDD out of it?

The only way is the micro USB slot or you take out the HDD.

Hi, it is not very complicated, you just have to remove a lot of screws.

I managed to remove the hard drive, but I can't format it : it is not detected at all by my PC when inserted in a basic 2.5" case, and when I put it back in the Homesync case, the PC does not permit such access, it is considered as a multimedia device, not a storage unit.

Has anyone managed to format the HDD, either in Homesync mode or in a case ?

Thank you!

Hi,
Have you been able to format and use the HDD out of the Homesync? If so, could you please share your method?
Thank you.

Good day Everyone,

Gave my mom this Samsung Homesync years ago. Now she's not using it anymore, I am thinking of using it, but I'd like to get myself a Xiaomi Mi Box.

Can Samsung Homesync function similar to a Mi Box or any Android TV at all? I mean, is it possible to flash the homesync with a different rom and have it function like other TV Box, can manually streaming apps like NetFlex, iFlix, UFC, NBA...

Thank you...
