Just want to check that arg.2=-ffmpegDir should remain unchanged and I only need to modify the arg.3 if I stick with the VM route?
Not sure I understand your question. If you need your own ffmpeg, specify both arg.2 and arg.3 as I explained.

I just wanted to check that I didn't need to edit the arg.2 text too and that is should stay as arg.2=-ffmpegDir
On a Nexus 7 with AOSP Android 7.1.1 mounted at the HiFi as the Local Renderer I always get the popup message "Local Media Server could not be started" when starting music to play, although the option "Enable" in "Local and Cloud" / "Local Media Server" is deselected.
Hmm, that's why. Would it be possible to implement this cache even when the connection is on wifi and streaming via BubbleUPnP server? Many a times we use public wifi which is not so fast. Could you treat this as a feature request? Many thanks.
This cache is only used/populated for caching music tracks when streaming with BubbleUPnP Server via a mobile data connection.
Hi,I'll think about it. The difficulty is to determine that you are connected to WiFi but not your home WiFi.
Many thanks, much appreciated for prompt response. How this will be done? A new version or some custom settings in app on my phone? If I can contribute to it by testing, please let me know.
Hi,
I have random hick ups (stuttering) when streaming flac from
JRiver or Mezzmo on a Windows 7 laptop,
via my home WiFi,
to an older ICS Android phone (hard wired to my Denon)
Given the phone plays flac with no problems when the file is on the phone, and also if I immediately rewind when it stutters the stutter is not there, I suspect spiking traffic on my WiFi or simply a fluctuating quality of the connection.
So I enabled cache, only to see nothing being cached. Searched and found the above posts and response on this thread from years ago.
Do you think caching could help me?
If yes I too would request enabling cache for WiFi also. In my case implementation is simpler I think (but all would benefit from it since the above would be covered too), since my request is for any WiFi not just public ones.
Thanks for the prompt answer. Is there any reason it's doesn't apply to lossless too?
Thanks, I will test in few hours and let you know. It's in BubbleUPnP Server 0-9update23. You can now send mp4 videos to Chromecast Audio, from youtube or other sources.
when I chooese bubbleUPNP in amazon's app store my new fire tv (4K) is not listed in the list of compatible devices. Is this a known restriction? Does BubbleUPNP only work with older fire tvs or fire sticks? Or should it work and I have to fix something on my fire tv?
Can you try rebooting the Fire TV and check if it appears in BubbleUPnP. If it doesn't, try rebooting your WiFi router as well.
Hello, I am having trouble streaming Tidal to my mpd/upmpdcli renderers using Kazoo as a Control Point and BubbleUPnP server as the OpenHome renderer.
Kazoo as its own Tidal service, but the library does not even show if a mpd/upmpdcli combination is selected as a renderer, unless on top of upmpdcli there is BubbleUPnP server with its own OpenHome renderer with Tidal support enabled.
While this upmpdcli+bubbleupnp server setup works perfectly when using the BubbleUPnP app, it does not work with Kazoo.
I get the "unsupported uri scheme" error on mpd.
Instead, if I use gmrenderer-resurrect, of course with BubbleUPnP server "on top" of it, Kazoo happily plays Tidal to it. Unfortunately in this case, I don't get scrobbling to Last.FM which I like to have.
Is there something I can do to fix the issue?
Thank you
Hi there
I've been using Bubbleupnp installed on a raspberry pi4 to stream music from Qobuz and Tidal on to a Hegel streamer amp, using Linn Kazoo as a controller.
Over the past week or so I've been unable to log in to Tidal and I can't figure out why. All I seem to get when I click the login tab in Kazoo is an error message (see image)
Is anyone else having this issue? I'm wondering whether it's because Tidal have been messing with their subscriptions recently...
