Unlock Bootloader
Flash TWRP by flashing it with fastboot.
Reboot to phone
In the computer:
adb reboot recovery
You will see a Team WIn recovery Project Screen.
Tap the do not show again and swipe at the bottom.
Tap on wipe.
Tap on advanced wipe.
Tap on cache, dalvik/art cache, data and system . Swipe to wipe.
Go back to the Main Menu.
Tap install.
Copy the Resurrection Remix ZIP and the Open GApps zip ( arm nano ) from your computer to your device.
First install the ROM then GApps.
Reboot.
Do the setup.
Go to browser in your phone.
Search Magisk 12.0 Zip Download.
Find it and download it.
Connect your phone to the computer with usb debugging enabled.
Type:
adb reboot recovery.
Once in recovery tap install and then find the Magisk Zip and install it. Tap reboot.

You have Root access! And Resurrection Remix!

Magisk working fine on latest RR build. Flash the v12.0 zip and uninstall magisk manager(because it asks to update from playstore, where magisk is removed) and install magisk manager apk from XDA labs app.

Hi all. I installed the latest zip of this ROM for my Moto G4 Play XT1602 with the exact instructions given in the OP (clean install). I have enabled Enhanced LTE mode in SIM settings. I have even tried toggling the settings under Phone Information in *#*#4636#*#*.
I even tried flashing the patch mentioned in post #68.
BUT WHATEVER I DO, I'M NOT GETTING VOLTE. :(
I have read in other threads that VOLTE only works with stock rom on the G4 Play. Lineage too has no VOLTE as of now. Am I missing something? Could someone please tell me how to get VOLTE working on this rom.

OK.. firstly, thank for helping me out.. let me check with you if I'm doing it right.
I'm guessing this is how you would have done it:
1 Unlocked the bootloader
2 Flash twrp using fastboot
3 reboot into twrp recovery
4 wipe system, data, cache, dalvik and flash RR rom (could u give the link to the rom version u flashed pls?)
5 flash gapps (any specific version? Could u give me the link pls). I used open gapps mini - Arm 7.1.
6 Reboot

I am using xt1602 and Jio SIM in slot 1.
Use latest RR 5.8.3 link is in this thread.
Use gapps stock arm 7.1

Hi all,
I finally got VoLTE working on Resurrection Remix custom ROM on my Moto G4 Play XT1602.
A quick recap: I was initially using stock (like we all do) and then Lineage OS before flashing RR. But VOLTE would not work.

So here's what I did:

1 Revert to stock ROM 6.0.1 with a clean install.
2 Flash twrp using fastboot.
3 Reboot to twrp recovery.
4 Wipe system, data, cache, art/dalvik cache and factory reset.
5 Flash RR ROM and gapps (I used arm 7.1 mini).
6 Reboot.

And voila! VOLTE working! (I have Jio sim in slot 1)

So if VOLTE is not working on Resurrection Remix ROM, try going back to stock and then flash this ROM.

I don't know why this worked for me.
Maybe @Subhrajyoti Sen could throw some light on this. And thanx bro for this awesome ROM.

Battery not charging

Hi all,
All of a sudden the battery does not seem to be charging.. I charged it till 90% using the A/C adapter and then had to leave for office.. Now, when I plug it into the laptop to charge via USB, the charge remains stuck at 90% and doesn't increase.. I know its not a problem with the laptop or cable because I used both yesterday and it worked fine..
