But 1 more thing. When you release the stable version, could you also add 60fps video recording? I did find out that the Nexus 5 could record in 60fps but it only works on Android L Preview. Are you able to migrate 60fps recording on Android 8.0.0 Oreo for Nexus 5? Thx, it would mean a lot ;)
60fps breaks a lot of stuff

Well done! first Oreo AOSP :> I have tested it on my Nexus 5, It's my old phone so i can keep formatting it as much as I want ;3 Almost nothing works! but thats fine.
Wifi Kinda glitched
No rotating
no USB Debugging
and totally not good for daily driver, but it's a not bad first build, just to play around it. CAN'T WAIT FOR IT ALL TO BE UP!

<MOD EDIT>There's a reason XDA is so adamant on the unwritten policy of "no ETA, no badgering about updates".

What you may think as encouraging comes off as entitled. As far as we know, Santhosh might have fixed several bugs, he might even be running a stable version on his phone right now, but it's not his job to give it to us, specially considering that as soon as a new build drops, people will start pointing out more and more minute bugs that don't matter and the cycle will continue indefinitely.

I know how you feel, I've been refreshing this thread every two hours ever since it got posted, but you don't see me asking for ETAs or asking the developer for the current "goings on" while nonchalantly saying "We're waaaitinnnnnnnnnnnnnng!". You and I have old devices, it's time to understand that officially we never even got Nougat. Be patient.

Dude, I understand that you want Android O, but there's a reason XDA is so adamant on the unwritten policy of "no ETA, no badgering about updates".

Tbh, i have fixed only couple of things which though don't matter on main fixes. I am too tied up in day work and trying to spend 30 min or so a day on this. Will try to release soon some stable build after fixing bugs :)

AOSP Oreo 8.0.0 for Nexus 5

    Hi all,

This is a highly WIP oreo build for Nexus 5. Things like bluetooth are broken or maybe even more stuff.

I have released it just for people to have a taste of the OS and hence use it at your own risk. Do not spam saying stuff doesn't work after flashing

    What works ?
    • Wifi
    • Audio
    • RIL
    • Sensors (atleast the basics should probably work fine)
    • Camera

    What doesn't work :

    • Bluetooth
    • GPS ? ( i would guess so as i didn't look into it yet)
    • Other stuff that quickly don't come into my mind.
(Please don't ask ETA for any bug fixes and i repeat this)

    Flashing method :
    • Need to have TWRP
    • Do a full wipe and install the rom
    • Reboot
First boot will take a while (min 10 min or so). So don't panic

    New build (11/09/2017)

    Hi all,

    New build released

    Changelog (11/09/2017) :

    • Audio fixed ( I tested basic sounds and music playback and all seems fine)

As for other stuff, i am not sure what else has been fixed for now. I spent around 45 min today and made as much as i can. Probably will get time tomorrow to fix other issues

    Cheers

    Update on my progress

    Hi guys,

Apologies for having not provided any updates. I was too busy in day job that i couldn't spend much time on this. With that said, i spent a good few hours today and fixed some minor things. However not release worthy and hence holding it as of now.

Things are bit too much in O and hence my progress is slow. I have festive holiday coming and hopefully i will work tomorrow during it and fix couple of major bugs and try to release a build.

    Regards
    Santhosh

    New build (04/10/2017)

    Hi all,

New build released. Have fixed few things, though lot remains to be fixed (lemme know after flashing this build the things that don't work)

    Changelog: (04/10/2017)

    • RIL ( I think both calls & data work. I couldn't verify fully)
    • Sensors (atleast the basics should probably work fine)
    • Camera (Preview & capture works fine. I think saving pictures still doesn't work [ should fix in next build easily])
    • Plenty of misc fixes

    What doesn't work :

    • Bluetooth
    • GPS ? ( i would guess so as i didn't look into it yet)
    • Other stuff that quickly don't come into my mind.

Please do flash and report bugs in appropriate manner so that i can know what all works perfect and what is still broken.
