Surprised nobody else has said it here yet but that was a pretty overwhelming showing by Google today. I think the pixel 2 XL is a worthy successor for the 6p and have pre-ordered one. I'll still be around for the foreseeable future until it shows up of course. Anyone else here?

Most importantly @BeansTown106 & @nathanchance ?
I ordered a Pixel 2 XL through fi, can't wait for it to get here! The 6P to me is getting a little long in the tooth. I love the phone, but it was time for an upgrade.

I'm torn between the V30 and the 2 XL. I felt let down by the new pixels when they were leaked and showed only a single camera, but I guess they sold me on it today with the announcement. I guess there is no way to avoid the price tag for a flagship these days with all of them being $800+. My next phone would've been the Essential if they didn't mess up that camera so badly...

The V series looks sooo good, and before the 6P, the LG G3 was my favorite phone ever, but not getting updates regularly kills me.

I started monitoring my memory usage, and saw that after Google Photos started the unlimited storage thing, and using the clean up space portion on the app now and then, I rarely have more than 40GB on my phone anymore (Google Play Music has helped here too), so I went with the 64GB. If it lasts 2 years like the 6P, that's a win for me.

Exactly how I feel. Great phone, but I don't even keep my gaming consoles that long now. LOL Someone else can enjoy my 6P now.

I'm very content with my OnePlus 5. I did pick up a Home Mini and a pair of Pixel Buds though lol.

Eh, I like the Pixel 2 XL but:

1/ not available in France (apparently, Google can't find us on Maps...)

2/ These prices are insane! The XL is 940 euros in Germany (vs $849 in the US, which comes to 780 euros, tax included!)

3/ No headphone jack. Are you kidding me Google?!

Don't know what I will get after my 6P. I miss the Nexus days... *sad panda*

I don't have the 1st problem, #2 is valid, though now I'm not buying phones every year so I don't mind as much. 3...

Folks are really using headphone jacks THAT much? I mean I'm OLD, and I so rarely use mine anymore, I tried to remember when the last time was I DID.

It was May, 2016, flight back from Belize on vacation. I didn't bring my bluetooth ones and those were in my bag.

I've been using Bluetooth almost exclusively for the past 5 or 6 years.

Right there with both of ya. Can't wait to see Beans work his magic on this beast! :good:

i read somewhere some days ago, where someone had a hands on and told me that it felt like some toy :l
i hope it is premium feeling, i still havent checked it out yet.

but it seems it is not coming with dual 'front' firing speakers (hot damn, too spoiled with the sweet 6p speakers).

and also what's the deal with so many phones lately not including a headphone jack?
do they do that because of some specific feature on the phone or something ?

i personally won't get the pixel 2 until it drops in price by half or so , sooo late next year it is !

NOpe, it has front facing speakers.

Both do.

As for headphone jacks... Personal preference of course, but I won't miss it.

didn't know it did, so glad it comes with two front firing speakers man.

there's only one thing that i kind of dislike atm.
the way the screen of the XL looks (when i get the phone I'll definitely be going with the XL).

and it like so weird to me, but ! i said the very same thing about the 6p's camera visor thing before getting it , and now the 6p has become my most favorite phone, have had it for nearly a year now, and i plan to keep it for at least another before making the switch to the pixel 2 xl.

My status bar clock is broken. As a result my alarm clock isn't working. Does anyone know how to solve this problem? I can't afford a broken alarm.

What about the size of the new pixel xl2? Bigger than the 6p or not??? I am worried about that... 6p is already too big

Well after a bit of an absence while rebuilding the rom from scratch for 7.0 i am finally pleased to announce the return of PureNexus!!

    a couple things to note:
*not all mods from marshmallow will be in the first build so be patient as i add your favorite mods, etc!
*as of right now the rom only has substratum legacy support. will update to full blown substratum as the stability increases for N!
*changelog doesnt display anything for this first build as all changes are listed on github/xda op, changelog will be back next release!

New 7.0 Build with some more features, and some fixs, i am aware that 7.1.0 has dropped(pixel development branch) however it is not the final 7.1 and would be unstable as it stands right now(no kernel source, no gapps, etc). so i am going to stick with 7.0 until the final 7.1.1 source is live for stabilitys sake :)

Also i have taken over support of banks gapps and rebranded them as just "Dynamic Gapps" mini & full, mini is the traditional banks gapps, and full is purenexus gapps
