Hey decatf,

Having fun playing with this ROM. Followed instructions to install and it seems to be working a treat. Thanks.
Apologies if this has been asked before, I have tried searching but can't find the answer. I finally got round to rooting my P7510 to play with overclocking CPU and GPU and some of the other kernel features you mention. I've installed Kernel Adiutor and I guess some of the kernel features you mention are just there and not configurable, but do you recommend any app(s) to modify those which can be changed.

Thanks again for bringing my old faithful SGT up to date.

Cheers
Sean

Have the same app and tweeked CPU easily enough, havent found one for clocking GPU myself. ANYONE manage to OC the GPU?? Via terminal or how?

Storage free space

Hi,

I have P4 and after rooting with aosp-7.1-p4-20171005 is in storage that it is using 1.56 GB for system and 9.19 GB Other leaving me with only 4 GB free space.
Have I done something wrong or does the rom need so much space?

Thank you.

@Thrakhath
From which ROM you are coming ?
The best way is a clean install including wipe of int. Sdcard ( data media ) but you need for flashing a OTG USB adapter.

Hi bierma32,

Thanks for your reply.

I had official rom P7500XXLQ8_P7500OXALQ8_ITV
I used Odin3 v3.12.3 and flashed twrp311-20171009-p4
Then throw TWRP I flashed aosp-7.1-p4-20171005 which I had download earlier on device memory.

Did I do something wrong in this steps?
Is there a link with an steps I' missing?

Thank you.

I think the old int. SDcard from Stock is also on your Tab and not wiped. ( 4.1.2 version roms use the /data/media directory as the "internal sdcard")
If you boot into TWRP / advanced / file manager you can select the folders und delete.
From 4.2+ versions of Android use the /data/media/0 directory due to support for multiple users.

Have you got a OTG USB adapter ?

Yes I see in data/media, so of my old files, so I delete the data folder or go inside data and delete only media folder?

I am loving this ROM. Much faster than others that I have tried. Anyone know of a video chat app that works with the front camera? I have tried Skype (green screen), hangouts (doesn't connect correctly), and facebook messenger (keeps saying that a call is in progress and try again later).

Would anyone know why when flashing this, the device hangs at the following?

"Target: samsung/GT=P7510/GT-P7510: 4.0.4/IMM76D/UELPL :user/release-keys"

I may have missed in the thread if this is an issue, but I installed TWRP 3.1 not 3.0, would that matter? Any other ideas? If I can't flash through TWRP, what do I need to flash through ADB? I'm much more familiar with the moto processes so I don't know if I need Odin, or just drivers, or what. Any help would be awesome, and thanks in advance.

EDIT: I figured out what I need for ADB and that's not working either. After ADB sideload xxx.zip (for the past two versions of the ROM), the flash is hanging at 44%. Any help would be awesome, and I'd be super thankful

Try to flash with TWRP 2.8.7.0

So I tried this, and that won't even begin to sideload anything. I just get a message saying: Total xfer: 0.00x and nothing happens. Meaning I can't even flash twrp 3.1 again to get back to what was even kind of working.

Any ideas?

Edit: so sideloading anything was a no go, however I was able to adb push the needed files to /sdcard. Just got done flashing and having some wait/kill task prompts come up on screen. Will try a data wipe and a reboot and see what happens.

Side loading was flakey in some versions of recovery. Use odin.

Hey thanks for the response, I just edited my earlier post. So how does Odin work? Does an OS need to be installed on the tablet for a PC/Mac to recognize it? That was my issue here, no OS, and nothing on the sd card. Fortunately I got it over using adb push, but I'm running into some issues. Like man, the boot time on this is like 10-15 minutes no lie. And when it boots a few things are popping up here and there. Thoughts?

    Incompatible/unsupported apps:
Many app developers do not support this device anymore. For these apps you have three options:
    1. Use previous versions of the app which were compatible with this device.
(APKMirror.com hosts many previous versions of apps.)
    2. Try the incompatible app anyways. It may run under NEON emulation. Emulation is very slow. The ideal way is to use previous versions of the app which are compatible with this device.
    3. Contact the app developer and ask them to maintain support for Tegra 2 devices.

    Installation:
    1. Backup all data
    2. Install TWRP 3.0
    3. Wipe cache, dalvik cache, system, data
    4. Install the ROM
    5. Optional steps:
      - Install gapps pico
      - Install phh Superuser
    6. Boot the ROM
    7. Enable on screen keyboard by toggling "Show input method"
    Installation issues:
    - If it freezes when installing the ROM then use TWRP 2.8.7.0.

Good news. @mainlane has sent me a P7500. So this ROM is not dead yet.

    I will post a 7.1.2 ROM soon.

    Build 20170320: The End

My tablet is dead. This is the final release from me. So long and thanks everybody.

    Changes:
    Code:
     - NEON emulation

This build enables NEON emulation. It is very slow but some apps do not use much NEON code so these such apps are mostly useable. Apps that rely heavily on NEON code are too slow to be useable.

Emulation is CPU and battery intensive so use it sparingly. I suggest you stick with previous versions of apps that do not use NEON unless there is some feature you desperately need.

In case you didn't know yet, Google Play Services 10.5 beta seems to running without any NEON code so I highly suggest you install that too. There's a link in the second post of this thread.

I will release an Oreo ROM but it only works on newer kernels which need to be tested first.
