@weinberk and sant1910. the only thing i can say, it works. meanwhile i am on official xposed 88.1 without any problems caused by xprivacy. my device is a samsung galaxy alpha and is running rr nougat with xposed sdk 25 weanwhile with addonsu by lineage, without magisk. this combination is also running on my samsung tab 3, rr nougat without any problems caused by xprivacy. your issues might be caused by restricting too much through xprivacy. restrictions with xprivacy could cause a artificial coma of your device.. and at least i recommend the latest official installer by rovo.

the unofficial xposed caused many bootloops. booting the device was only possible by restoring my latest backup.

Thanks very much for the insights @kurvenmeister.

Unfortunately for me (and, from what I gather, lots of others), using the official xPosed installer and official framework (no Magisk), on a clean HTC One M9 lineageos install, if I enable xPosed, I get apps crashing. This is true even if a given app has NO restrictions and/or is turned off in xPrivacy, so i don't think it's a case of too many restrictions. For example, I Nine Folders (the email client) has all sorts of trouble if xPrivacy is enabled in xPosed even when Nine Folders is not restricted in any way by xPrivacy settings. On Mashmallow, the same setup was fine. I've also seen the problem with the stock email app, chrome, the phone app, and lots of others.

I've seen it where the phone will be okay for a day or two, but then FC all over the place. I've seen it where there are issues right from the get go. I've seen it where an app that was working fine with xPrivacy will all of a sudden FC immediately upon opening even after rebooting the phone. Removing the FC'ing app and starting over generally fixes the problem, but then it can return at any time. And once the problem with a specific app starts, simply disabling xPrivacy in xPosed (not just disabling the crashing app, but completely disabling xPrivacy) immediately fixes the problem - no more crashing.

So, Consider yourself very lucky! And know that the rest of us are jealous....

thx a lot. and indeed i am very happy xposed to work on my devices. just prepared a s4 mini with xposed/xprivacy and it is also working very well. what a pitty that xprivacy is not working for you.

Xposed modules are not activated even after installing and rebooting

Hi frnds,
I've installed xposed in RR 5.8.5, OP2(clean install) using Magisk.
The xposed app shows that it is active but the modules are not working.
I've looked the forum for such problems of another user, but the resolution they provided is not working for me.

I'm using xinsta and NoWhatsapp Receipts modules. I've attached xposed logs for reference.

Secondly, when posting logs like that don't do it in the body. Post it as an attachment. If a log is large, zip it up and attach that or put it up online and link it.

Log is full of errors and dalvik issues. Probably something wrong with the installation. I don't use systemless though so I can't help there.

Can't be too lazy for that I'm sure. ?

Whether or not the uninstaller works is something else. I remember there was another one, I think. Maybe. Could search the thread for "uninstaller" I guess.

I managed to run several Xposed modules. But as soon as I enable Xprivacy, I see a boot loop. Which begs the question: It is time to find a replacement for Xprivacy? Are there any good alternatives? The only one I can see is PMP (Protect My Privacy), which is closed source, unfortunately.

I've not found an alternative.

xPrivacy will not be updated by the original developer. There's hope that someone else will pick this project up, but it would be a massive undertaking. I'm not holding my breath, but i remain hopeful.

I tried PMP, but that didn't work well (several months ago). https://www.cmu.edu/news/stories/archives/2017/september/smartphone-privacy.html sounds promising, but is the research project now over?? It seems to block based on library access, which is better than nothing, but not as powerful as xPrivacy was on MM and earlier.

I'm having an issue with 88.2, an irritating message keeps popping up asking me to "please update xposed installer" after some research I found a solution of installing the "unofficial" version. Anyone know anything about this?
