it looks like it's working. Dexter has posted before that ERROR_LOG is just a bad name choice- open up the log and read that it moved your apps successfully.

i will 100% for sure, get the name changed for the next time.
And i will probably also disable automatic formatting, as not all sdcards work normal, without a clean formatting of it. so it stops and keeps formatting/rebooting all the time as it fails.

So for those of you getting no results with it, becides rebooting. I will disable the automatic formatting, and you can chose your own solution for sdcard preperation, and the image will activate when you got a second partition on the card, so no trigger file anymore.

As I said above, running on 2.2 (pre ?? :) battery drained quickly, phone becomes warmer.
And usefull function of MS/Motorola Crystal Talk is dissabled now.

the Motorola droid is actually a GOOGLE product, and motorola only made the hardware, but google made the choices here...

so you dont get any motorola functions with a droid based 2.2 , but you get full support for hardware :)

if you have app2sd previously, then all apps should still be in your sdcard ext2 partition. reenabling it is simple using a few commands and files from GOT OpenRecovery. assuming you have GOT OpenRecovery in your sdcard, just issue these commands from terminal app:

Code:
su
mkdir /data/app2sd
mount -o remount,rw /system
cd /system/bin
mkdir boot_script
chmod 755 boot_script
cp -f /sdcard/OpenRecovery/app2sd/bin/boot_script/51_app2sd.sh boot_script
chmod 755 boot_script/51_app2sd.sh
mv -f mot_boot_mode.bin mot_boot_mode1.bin
cp -f /sdcard/OpenRecovery/app2sd/bin/mot_boot_mode mot_boot_mode.bin
chmod 755 mot_boot_mode.bin
sed -i "s/mot_boot_mode.bin/mot_boot_mode1.bin/" mot_boot_mode.bin
mount -o remount,ro /system
reboot and pray :D

@dexter
i tried using init.d but somehow some scripts failed so i go the above way instead

I think hardware address is different between Droid/Ms vs Nexus One, so Crystal Talk will not work even N1 has duo microphone same as MS for noise canceling.

BTW, I need Camera now and use it everyday for capturing documentaries, so I come back to 2.36 GOT and still wait for new release from you.

Thanks !

hey guys. ive found that on motofrenzy 0.3 i had network service but no 3g, as i was only testing it i reverted back to my pulsar rom. since installing motofrenzy 0.4 i have no service at all. i saw at the start of the thread about copying original files as this rom might not be compatible with my phone. i restored my pulsar rom and i used droid explorer to copy all the files from my pulsar rom however "generic_pds_init" wasnt there, yet with that pulsar rom i had full network service. once rebooting my phone with the files copied onto the new motofrenzy (other than generic_pds_init) i have NO service at all.

if someone could help me with this that would be great. thankyou

in cases it has been required to copy the /system/lib/libril-moto-umts-1.so
library as well..

try that, earlier in this thread it has been written it solves it for others, so it might be your problem here too.

init.d scripts are started very late in the process of bootup, so if any changes to /data/app is done, it might be "very" busy, as android processes are running.

let me look at how we can get this running a little earlier like my own scripts are..
maybe one of these can have the busybox init.d scripts started here too.

Hi there,

I have a Brazilian Milestone (Vivo Carrier, unlocked) and yesterday I installed MotoFrenzy .4.

All is fine except for two things:
1) HSDPA connection seems to not be working
I backed-up and restored the 5 files mentioned, restored the other file to System/Lib but only manage to connect in 3G (the icon never changes to the "H").
I tried to use the Update-Nosign from the other dexter thread but got the same results. The connection works and honestly it is dificult to be certain if it is more unstable/slow but I think it should go to the "H" as always. Someone have any ideia what could be the problem?
2) apps2sd: I can`t move any apps to the SD using the "Manage Application" settings (get a "Failed to Move" error) but I just checked the apps2sd_error file and it says all my apps where moved. Just how was it supposed to work?

DEXTER, thank you very much for the great work, it works great, fast and very stable.

Bye,

im using v0.4 with UD mod since last night , the phone works smoother and faster with the mod.though i had to root it again after installing the mod.
also can someone post the mediagallery.apk that dexter put in his froyo rom since v0.3? the old gallery without the 3d effect.
i have the one from android v2.0.1, when i install it , it fails, it used to fail on v0.2 and v0.1c too
so i think its the apk problem and i want to try the one on this rom, because u lose it after installing the UD mod.
thanks

Anyone else having problems with the phone (calls, data) not working after a while?

When i boot everything works fine. After some hours, the data stops working and when I try to make a call the phone process force closes.

As i mentioned in an earlier post, i'm still having problems going from 3G to E. Only way to switch modes is to reboot.

Is it only my phone?

i think the battery issues people are having might be caused by the overclock module, I tried unloading Module in Milestone Overclock app and battery has lasted a lot longer, almost the same as it did in 2.1.

Hey guys new around here.
I have been using Motofrenzy since the 0.2 version but 1 thing i still can't manage to get working is the app2sd.
I used paragon partition manager to partition my sdcard to ext2.
I included the use_apps2sd file but it still doesn't work.
here's the log file

Me too! Same problem as katsuru

My data connection stops working some times... like it shows i have 3G but actually i have no connection at all...

I have the same problem. Also calls do not work either. The dialer would crash.

Only happens after the phone is on for some time.

Thanks dexter this is great, using full time now.
Ive had some of the same problems other have listed,
I'm from canada telus,
3G connection seems to drop off occasionally,
Apps2sd hangs on droid screen. (can you recommend a good tutorial I have tried a few but with no luck so far)
Other than that this is great, it's like getting a new hardware device. Thanks for all your hard work.

starting rom

Dexter: Before flashing your ROM my phone was on the current UK rom (I think 2.32 or 2.31 kernel?) Is there any advantage/disadvantage or reason to flash to the 2.36 or 2.38 kernel and then move back to MotoFrenzy?

Lost App2SD on Restore

Need your advice guys. I created a full backup of my very stable MotoFrenzy_v4 to test the new themes posted by Dexter. After a short test i Restored my full backup but discovered that all the apps moved to the SD can no longer be seen nor accessed on the menu.

Question: How do i bring it back?

This is the Froyo FRG22 image for our Milestone. but as this is not using the kernel, there are some limit to functions based on kernel requirement. But its close, and works great and is alot faster.

You can also follow updates on Twitter now: Dexter Picard (DexterPicard) on Twitter or me a Red bull, and you're sure i stay up working on this mod´or you can visit my new homepage at Dexter's mods

Primary Image download - MotoFrenzy v0.52 FULL image

MotoFrenzy folder goes into /nandroid/adbrecovery on your SDCARD
ALWAYS WIPE YOUR PHONE BEFORE INSTALLING A FULL IMAGE
    Patches
    none
download the latest attached zip , and inside you find a MotoFrenzy-vx.xx-update-nosign zip , which you copy to your sdcard into the folder /OpenRecovery/updates and recover from OpenRecovery menu.
Patches only match the release which it is made for. so 0.1 release has patches 0.1(a-z) and so on. you cannot use 0.1a on a 0.2 release.
THEMES (works on 0.5 but FRG22 features are lost)
Themes applied with OpenRecovery, will automatically format(factory reset) your phone, as these has different signatures and cannot be used on top of this releas without factory reset.

    Download http://dext3r.komodin.org/MotoFrenzy/MotoFrenzy-v05-FRF91-stock-theme-nosign.zipTheme - Nexus1 theme for froyo.
This theme is based on Modaco R21 release with chinese included too.
it has multilanguage support and france, germany, italian, portugese and some chinese(i cannot pronounce) as examples
hw keyboard light only works when "auto" light is disabled. (use power panel, so you can manage light if needed)
Download http://rapidshare.com/files/410811694/MotoFrenzy-v04-theme-UDexteme5.0.1--nosign.zip.htmlTheme - UD Extreme 5.0.1 for froyo.
This theme is primarily "dark grey".
All credits goes to Ultimate Droid for the making of this mod, i just ported their Droid release to run on our milestone.
You should note, this uses an alternate launcher(PRO) and added functions(UDParts menu) into menus for configuation and as example DISABLE/CHANGE PREFERRED STORAGE for Market downloads, which we, with a 2.1 kernel can utilize. Please visit their site to see the pictures of this mod.
I have not have the chance to test all options of their menu functions but it looks promissing.
Download http://rapidshare.com/files/410815633/MotoFrenzy-v04-theme-stock-theme--nosign.zip.htmlTheme - Droid FRG01 stock theme for froyo.
Original theme coming with 0.4 image. this is primarily just for easy restore.
    STATUS
    WORKING
    Camera
    Bluetooth
    GPS
    Radio (GSM,GPRS,HSPA)
    Wifi
    SDCard detection
    USB / ABD
    AC Charging (milestone specific option)
3D games / full display support
    Video playback (Youtube etc..)
    Wipe
    G-sensor
    NOT WORKING
    Video Recorder + camera focus/audio

    INSTALLATION
FULL Images are copied to the SDCARD into /nandroid/adbrecovery folder, and installed from your OpenRecovery menu.

Patches are copied into the /OpenRecovery/updates folder, and installed from openrecovery menu.

Radio Band Requirements for different countries
Some countries require the original 3G files of your current ROM to work ie. Canada, Brazil, Venezuela, Germany and some others countries uses a different band for 3G. If u dont backup the 4 original 3G Files and restore it over this nandroid once installed u gonna have poor signal, sms problems and HSDPA loss (even if u set apn and get conection its gonna be crappy one).
Files should be in the /system/etc/motorola/bp_nvm_default/ of your phone.
Files can only be copied from OpenRecovery , using adb shell.

Latest v0.5 has builtin install option using GScript , so you can get the radio replaced/installed. without update zip files.

You might check this thread , if a update-nosign.zip file exists for your model. which makes it easier for you to install.

    Filenames are:
    File_Audio
    File_Audio2
    File_GSM
    File_Seem_Flex_Tables
    generic_pds_init

Hello, i have a motorola milestone and i have a problem, i can't instal all the custom roms for this phone, when i try to restore i have the message "Boot: md5 checksum file missing"
    Openrecovery 1.46, milestone 2.1.
    Thanks

A simple google search would have done the trick for you!

This is not a nandroid restore! You must install it as an update! From Open Recovery menu go to apply updates and run it as an update from there!

Hit the thanks button please! :)
