is your device bootloader unlocked. I tested this on my Moto E before uploading it and it works just fine.

that means you are flashing the wrong firmware or are trying to downgrade the device
I am trying to downgrade my XT-1023 from Android 5.1 to Android 4.4.4. Can I use this tool to accomplish this?
I tried running option 7 in your program (flash 4.4.4 and re-lock boot order), but it gave me tons of errors about preflash validation failed.
Is there anyway for me to get around these errors and use this tool to install 4.4.4 on my device?

i used this tool and it didn't work. now i can't enter recovery and there's no root. also device can't be recognized by adb anymore after using this no matter what I do..
Seems like its working and then gets stuck at the moto logo. Have to hold power button then phone starts like normal... No twrp, no root. Bootloader is unlocked. Device is recognized no previous custom partition. Not sure what else to do
I have this thing where even though I select the option in Dev Options, my phone automatically defaults to charge via usb and I have to manually change to "transfer files." This can only be done from the ui though so I'm thinking that this could be why I'm having such trouble flashing a recovery onto this device. Frustrating because I have successfully rooted galaxies in the past. Any thoughts?

39This is a little script tool I made up for the Moto E XT1023 The Firmware restore will only work on the XT1023 but all other options should work on all the variants of the Moto E
It is really simple. But requires a unlocked bootloader video HERE If you need help with bootloader unlock
Download the Moto E Super Tool
extract the tool to your desktop
Turn on usb debugging mode on the device
install the Motorola drivers
Run the Moto E 1 Moto-E-Restore-XT1023.bat file
then just select what you want to do
1. Root your Moto E
2. Flash TWRP Recovery
3. Flash Stock Android Recovery
4. Flash CWM recovery
5. Remove the unlocked bootloader warning
6. Fully restore the Moto E to stock
7. Fully restore plus Relock the bootloader

Update won't work if you have modded system partition in any way. Even if its just blotware uninstalled. Just flash system partition only and it should work. The .1 .2 .3 file extension files I meanThanks!! it worked for me and I see the options now.. however the update still does not work :crying:
