it's just your opinion, and it's hardly anyone interested. You can sell or discard your S9 and save this hate forum for this product. we others appreciate its further advantages.
try writing your posts in the Nokia section or elsewhere where it will appreciate more. THX

I thought we were expressing opinions :) The biggest problem - proalby there is no any android phone with Lumia 950 XL photo quality :( In PRO mode i get this results, but it's not even close to Lumia :( Looks good only when not zoom in :(

so my friend. During a bright and sunny day the quality of the photo is good and perfect even with a phone that is 5 years old. try shooting something at night or at a discotheque in the glow of reflectors and different lights and then add a photo here. you will be surprised. but I see you really know it. of course, ironically.

Do you think your photo was hot for me during a nice day? not at all. nothing to surprise my friend.

I know, because it's photo from Galaxy S9+ :) It's what i've talking about - not too many details, especially on bigger 4k monitors. I think Galaxy S9+ camera is overrated, but has some strong points - low light photos inside rooms for example, but i wait for true game changer or at least camera phone on this same level what Lumia 950 XL. I'm hope Note 9 will be something like that. Now i have to live with S9+.

You will be disappointed forever then, because sensor and lens size are really different and smaller in current flagships. The only one that comes near is the P20 Pro, but still is not comparable.

Anyway, this is a smartphone camera and not a DSLR, so still we need to keep that in mind.

Great pics!

But yeah, nothing wrong with the camera. If somebody wants more details, just download gcam.

Is there a way to download the p20 pro cam, btw? I'd like to try the 4-second-exposure night shots. They'd look incredible with S9's 1.5 aperture

Samsung should do the same. They did a similar thing back in the Galaxy S5 days - they threw in a night mode that toom quite a few seconds to take a shot.

You sure up is s9? When i zoom in, the photo in the bottom retains more details in the writings on the buildings and on the car's plates.

Unfortunelly, yes. Motorola Moto X Style in daylight offers more details than Galaxy S9+. Of course Motorola really sucks in night, but most photos i do in daylight. In my opnion Galaxy S9+ is great camera only on close distance, but landscapes, trees, grass - quality is below expectactions. Overall it's not a really bad camera. For example It's much better than S8, that i sold after only one week. When i took some photos and compared S8 to Lumia 950 XL - i was devastated :) S9+ is a way better. I really not expect DSLR Quality, but when i see photos on 4k monitor 32" - especialy landscapes, i'm not impressed at all. I would back to Lumia, but it's not possible. Windows is dead.

My personal opinion is that it's a decent camera, ideally I'd like a few more megapixels as you noticeably lose detail when zooming in on photos you've taken (and i like the widescreen shots so its only 9mp). Really like the portrait mode, but I'm not a keen snapper so what's good for me isn't necessarily good enough for others

Watched the photos and want to write that this phone has a good camera. In my opinin it's even better than Iphone X camera. Samsung made something better than Apple could.

For those who are interested...I took some shots to see how the s9+ live focus stacks up against my ILC camera

It seems that in dark scenes it loses lots of details. Also the absence of a dedicated NIGHT mode is a negative thing for me. Indeed, you can use the Manual mode, but it takes some time tweaking it.

    To answer your question:
    - i am using an iPhone XR, that has better camera than the S9+
    - i used a p20 pro, it had a way better camera than the s9+
    - i used a pocophone f1, and the night mode with modded gcam was way better than the stock s9+

For the price, I am not satisfied. But this is only my personal opinion.

It's true that it tends to soften images in low light situations, but with the advantage of less noise, which I prefer. Other cameras give you more detail, but with more noise, like Pixel phones. It's a matter of preference in this case.

About the night mode, it seems it will come in a future update and they are still working on it, which clearly be a winner with the Samsung hardware.

I had the S9+ for a year now, and also other devices like the P20 Pro and Pixel 3 XL, and still the S9+ is the more rounded camera and the one I can trust for both photo and video.

I did really deep analysis and comparisons of these devices, and all of them have good and bad things, but is a matter of preference in the end. I have took more than 1000 photos for comparing the devices over a month, so I know how they compare and behave in different situations. For example, I don't like at all the Pixel 3 XL results, which gives oversharpened and oversaturated images with a lot of contrast, thus you lose a lot of detail in the shadows; the P20 Pro is fantastic at nighttime, but it fails in daytime with the dynamic range and a little bit with white balance.

I also did a comparison of the Pixel 3 XL and the S9+ with gCam, and results were better in the S9+ as long as you know how to tweak the settings in it, but I stopped using it because it has a big problem of definition compared to stock.

I have had other devices as well, but there's no point in comparing them because they are not worthy rivals, so no need to do a big comparison.

Overall I'm happy with this S9+, being my first Samsung device, and most probably I will get the S10+ in the incoming days because Samsung is currently making the best phones, because even when they are not the best in each category, they offer a well rounded package that is really hard to match.

    ;)
