Thank you.

Never got much of anywhere with it. I think I realized that I probably need to wait for app update. I just ended up using apktiol on computer. Currently running Sailfish os, so won't be testing anymore for now... I just checked androblacks page, and no updates yet.

That's great but easier and faster way to decompile and edit apk is APKEditor app.
It has free & pro versions and doesn't require root

ApkEditor is great but I can never get it to compile since Android O. It's a nice little tool to search through code when I don't have access to my PC but I always have to make my edits and compile using apktool on PC.

Downloading now... Looks interesting.

By the way, if anyone is interested, Androblack has released ApktoolX for O, (v8). I haven't quite been able to get it to work yet on my Xperia XC, but might not have to now, depending on how it goes with above post...

Got apktoolx 8 working with root. Download 'apktool x non-root installer' from Androblack's afh page. Install, open, check 'root' in settings, close app, reopen, grant root, go to settings and check 'install openjdk'. Install and open it, and message says 'Java is running'. Now import, decompile working normally.

I fixed the crash when opening settings. Problem was null object reference in /com/amaze/filemanager/fragments/preference_fragments/PrefFrag.smali, line 623-629:
Code:
invoke-virtual {v2}, Landroid/hardware/fingerprint/FingerprintManager;->isHardwareDetected()Z

    move-result v4

    if-eqz v4, :cond_3

    const/4 v4, 0x1
I deleted those lines and now ok...
