That was unexpected but funny at the same time.

Haha, yeah, Chainfire intentionally made it with that supersu_is_here or whatever file so he could move it around easily if Google blocked the use of /data/adb somehow, so searching for that file is the correct way to find an installation. I'd suggest just keeping it zipped, or deleting that file if you absolutely need it unzipped.

The following post may be of interest to you. Not sure how much you've already incorporated. (In other words it may also be useless 😉 )

Not sure what to make of that.. some of it is just plain wrong and would generate an invalid config (e.g. setting things =n).. but the rest (i.e. fixing unicode display) looks reasonable. I'll add it in the next build that comes up.

Edit: I really don't think this makes much sense either:

"Range of supported Unicode characters", enter: "0". (CONFIG_LAST_SUPPORTED_WCHAR=0)

Edit 2: Only supporting info I've found on it: https://forum.qt.io/topic/83001/unic...ect-encoding/8

Why? Looks like it's a separate binary, and looks like he already built it for people. Also.. https seems to work fine in my busybox?

Yeah, go ahead and use things if you like. Test them first, those scripts might be quite outdated. @ mention me with credit for whatever you do end up using.

That's completely incorrect. Magisk has pretty much always had its own busybox, but it's not exposed to userspace except in boot script environments. To the contrary, the busybox bundled in Magisk v18 actually removed the majority of applets to make it build with fewer patches, so my busybox is more important for those wanting full features, not less.

If I'm on a custom rom that has ota updates but also support addon.d scripts, what's the procedure for TWRP retention script?, because I'm not sure when addon.d scripts are executed, right after the ota is installed or after a reboot, so do I just flash the retention script and reboot or do I do that then install Magisk to inactive slot?

Really, a TWRP addon.d-v2 script would be the way to go for custom ROMs, but yeah, same as stock OTA I imagine: just allow the OTA to install in background, then use the TWRP A/B Retention zip via Magisk Manager to flash TWRP to the inactive slot, then to be safe manually install Magisk to inactive slot to reroot properly.
