Dual Booting Samsung Ativ Smart PC Pro with Android and Windows 8.1
I think if you fulfill the following requirements then this method will work;

Update latest Bios firmware for Samsung tablet.
Take a complete backup of your system.
Create a recovery usb drive so that you can restore in case there is any issue.
You will need a pen drive of minimum 2GB in size.
Download Samsung XE700T and save it on your desktop.
Download Win32DiskImager Image Writer for Windows.
You will also need a working pc to create an usb drive for setup.

I found out how to enable brightness control on our beloved tablet in Android-x86!

As we already know, we must use "acpi_backlight=video" kernel command line for linux kernel 4.0+.
For android, we also need to modify build.prop. So fire up an terminal emulator and get root access:

Code:
su -
vi /system/build.prop
Now add the following lines:
Code:
#
# Brightness Fix for Samsung XE700
#
backlight.brightness_file=/sys/class/backlight/acpi_video0/brightness
backlight.max_brightness_file=/sys/class/backlight/acpi_video0/max_brightness
Some other information:
Android-x86 6.0 RC1 has some driver load problems which were fixed in RC2. That's the reason why Broadcom WiFi cards didn't work.
If you are using a Broadcom WiFi/BT combo card, make sure to copy the appropriate firmware to /lib/firmware/brcm in the correct format.
There are plenty of tutorials how to do this on the net, just ask Google.

Only 3 problems to solve:
- 3G Modem (Android-x86 6.0 RC1 requested a SIM card, RC2 does not... why?)
- GPS
- NFC

Best regards,
Mr nUUb

PS: is it possible to define the minimal brightness? Android does not get lower than 3, but manual setting to 0 results in darker but still readable screen.

Hi,

I installed cm-x86_64-14.1-r2.iso from http://www.android-x86.org/download on my Samsung ATIV 700T and brightness control do not work.

I tried a lot of things added these two
backlight.brightness_file=/sys/class/backlight/acpi_video0/brightness
backlight.max_brightness_file=/sys/class/backlight/acpi_video0/max_brightness
to build.prop

and modded grub.cfg/android.cfg adding
acpi_backlight=video

Any ideas why it doesn't work?

sys/class/backlight has got intel_backlight folder
I tried to point build.prop entries to this location, but still no luck.
