However if I want to surely root, i can downgrade to jb, to unlock the boot loader, install cwm or twrp, and then update flashing a recent image ?

It's been a tree in the ass but i finnaly have the kk 4.4.2 rooted.
-downgraded to jb
-rooted (towel...)
-installed twrp 3 (the version for l9II, not sure if the official newer works)
in twrp:
-wiped cache, dalvkin something... , data, system
-formated data
-flashed kk 20h from this thread (maybe the last)
(-a lot of search)
(- flashed supersu(latest), but no root)
(- flashed supersu and varcain rootfix, but no root)
- flashed supersu
- flashed rootv2a from a reup of this thread
- wiped cache
-reboot
in android
-updated supersu with playstore
- done

Hey guys,
I'm kind of a noob when it comes to custom roms, but I wonder if there is a chance that I can get a custom rom that would upgrade the experience I get with 4.4.2 KitKat on LG L9 II, but wouldn't break anything (WiFi etc.)? I have seen a YT video on which guy stated that flashing a custom rom onto Galaxy S3 (which is very similar in to this LG in terms of specs) hugely improved the overall experience.
Don't get me wrong - I don't intend to use this phone for any games, social media or heavy app usage. I just want to use it for some Google utilities (Calendar, Gmail, Maps and Search), Whatsapp, calling, texting and nothing more. I love how compact this phone and I don't want to spend ~$90 to get similarly "powerful" phone just for having more up to date system.
I will be grateful for your experience in that matter, thank you!
