So i ended up having to dust off the xt926 and use it until my new phone arrives and ill be damned if my dad didnt update the FW so im screwed on the BL unlock BUT Root was attained super easy using KIngroot.apk... And yesterday i stumbled upon an article about how to downgrade your FW and unlock bootloader even if you took the final update... will post link to article for yall to take a look at.

XT926 with kernel date July 2014 or after
can now be unlocked with sunshine app

xda thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2792487

free to test compatibility, $25 to unlock
I would root with hydrogen peroxide, even though kingroot or temporary root should work too

Yahoo! No need to spend $25 on SunShine. Just get unlock code from Motorola website. It's FREE! Hurry up before Motorola change their mind. Yahoo!

Not not the same, the XT926 is a Verizon branded phone. Motorola still has an agreement that Verizon branded models cannot be bootloader unlocked.

I remembered that I tried to unlock my XT925 a few months ago but a message from Motorola says that it can't be unlocked. Now it work. If you have time, give a try.
