It's meant to allow the finger to be read better. OxygenOS does this by super brightening the fingerprint sensor with animations (which is why certain animations work better than others). Simpliest way to describe itQuick question, what causes the screen to go super dim when using the fingerprint scanner? I've noticed it on a couple different ROMs now.

Proprietary jargen that's obviously needs to be wired around. I can definitely see the devs coming up with a way to do it, but without animations, it's pointless since the animations is what light up the sensor on stock OxygenOSI knew about the brightening of the finger to allow better accuracy, I more so wondering why the whole screen dims rather than just brightening the fingerprint pixels. Unless that's still not possible.
