Does vendor images for LOS 17.1 actually still need to be used? Is it not already in the ROM?
With Samsung firmware, I wouldn't experiment with what you want. Just make a clean flash via TWRP. (Clear Art Cache / System / Data / Internal Storage / Cache)
maybe "format data" (yes).
I can also remotely remember that a memory needs to be mounted before installing the gapps. Otherwise there will always be an error message. But I don't know exactly what is currently attached. But is displayed.
If anything is wrong in my execution, I ask the community for correction.

(Sorry of the English ... I use translators)
Well everything seems to run very smoothly, even without flashing a new clean stock firmware.
Vendor.img was included and the .zip did everything else.. Very nice!
Thanks to you and the contributers ofcourse ;)

One question: is it normal that the statusbar and navagation bar are very small compared to other versions?
I do have a S9 Galaxy Edge, which could make it smaller for me. (Never edge again)
EDIT: My next phone has to be Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ (What a beast)

Very good.
However, there are already some bugs. But they do not disturb the operation of the cell phone. All in all, the ROM runs very smoothly. I hope for another update from @abtekk soon. If you read the last posts carefully you will be well informed about existing bugs.

Is it normal that bloatware comes installed in this build? Anyone else that gets the apps: MySingtel, UBANK and a Russian search engine app?

Overall happy with this ROM, thanks to the developers hard work!

Installation went smooth, I like that the latest vendor image is already included in the install, great job!

However I cannot continue to use this as my daily driver because the signal keeps getting lost. I have to reboot the phone to get data back which is crucial in my line of work. I tried airplane mode but no go. I am also depending on SELinux being enabled which it isn't.

Best of luck to the developers and testers! I will retire this phone and pass it on to a new owner.

And you have no further mistakes?
Here is a summary of my bugs:
* In the off state when charging, no% "xx" is displayed. If the cable is disconnected, the display freezes. On, press Volume + Down 7 ''
* hide the status and the navigation bar not possible. Calling the setting ends with an error message.
* Percentage display battery in the status cannot be selected in the settings
* Streaming (transfer screen) not possible

Hi,

Could you give us the instructions to build from your repos ?
I've built official LOS before, but I'm bit lost with external source trees.
Thanks in advance.

Hello @abtekk will you work together with upstream to get official signed builds for Samsung S9?

Since there is multiple LineageOS based ROMs, but none is signed or officially supported, so it would be great, if you managed to break that curse! :)

Thank you for your work.

MAC Randomization in Android 10

The setting for disabling or enabling MAC randomization is not available.

1. Open the Settings app
2. Select Network and Internet
3. Select WiFi
4. Connect to the Boingo Wireless network
5. Tap the gear icon next to the current connection
6. Select Advanced
7. Select Privacy
8. Select "Use device MAC"

Thanks, but I do not have "Privacy" submenu (7)

For me, hands free bluetooth calling in my car doesn't work - very jibberish audio quality, can't understand a thing.
And the car commands, like one track forth or back, don't work on my audio player either.
Also, Android Auto doesn't work - it states, it is connected but the screen in my car stays blank.

Are these known bugs? Or will a complete wipe and reinstall possibly help (I did a dirty flash coming from LOS 16)?

The same for me on my BT headset, but also dirty flashed from LOS16.
Did you try to clean data? Did that help?

For me the bluetooth call sounds like a robot or something. Using BT for audio streaming is perfect quality.

No, I didn't have the time to do a complete wipe and clean install. I hoped, a newer release would fix that but sadly there has been none for over a month now.

I tried to do a wipe. Still the same problem. =(

I'm having a lot of hiccups with this ROM. =(

I have this problem on one om my sim cards that trying to send or receive MMS will crash the internet connection. Need to disable/enable mobile data to get it back. But as soon as the phone tries to download/upload MMS again it will stop working. Works good on second sim card tho. Don't know why this happens. Might be related to me roaming at the moment.

Sharing Wifi does not always work. Needs a few tries to get started.

Looks like I might need to move back to Lineage 16...

I have that with all LOS roms. The fix for me is to set up my APNs and merge the MMS settings from the MMS APN into the selected internet APN. As all carriers are going to have different APN settings, I can't really help with exactly what you need to copy, but hopefully this helps.

    What's working:
    • Wi-Fi
    • Bluetooth
    • Mobile Network (Calling, Data, etc.)
    • Audio (Stereo Speakers)
    • Camera
    • Fingerprint Sensor
    • S-Pen Basics
    • Call Recording
    • HWC
    • Signal Indicator
    • GPS
    • Sensors
    • HDMI
    • NFC

    What's not working:
    • Iris sensor does not work because AOSP upstream does not support that yet.
    • IMS services (VoLTE, VoWiFi, etc). Samsung has their own proprietary implementation. It is not really possible to easily port that to LineageOS.

    Bugs:
    • S-Pen/Mouse will cause small graphical glitches during button animations sometimes.
    • Signal Indicator

    Instructions:
    • Make sure TWRP has been installed and functional
    • Reboot to recovery
    • Wipe data and cache (required if you switch from other ROMs)
    • Flash the latest build (then gapps and magisk if needed)
    • Reboot

THE VENDOR.IMG IS PROVIDED AS PART OF THE ROM. FLASHING ANOTHER VENDOR WILL CAUSE A BOOTLOOP.

    How to update builds?
    • Do not wipe anything unless stated in the changelog
    • Flash only the rom.zip and it will automatically reinstall your gapps, magisk, vendor etc
    • use /system/addon.d if you would like to keep system mods after an update

    Downloads:

If you get booting and or wifi issues with this new build, I would recommend a completely clean flash. It would appear some things have changed upstream in Lineage & Magisk that are causing issues.

    Changelog:
    09/01/2019
    • Fixed NFC (Requires factory reset if on earlier build)
    • WiFi should behave a bit more.

    23/12/2019
    • Hardware decoding of UHD video no longer lags/stutters
    • Bluetooth call audio working
    • UHD video recording with the camera app fixed
    • Built against LOS december sources

    20/12/2019
    • Wifi tethering now works
    • Kernel upstreamed to 4.9.202

    19/12/2019
    • DRM protected content will no longer crash the device (YouTube, Spotify, Netflix, etc)
    • Fingerprint scanner now works properly

    18/12/2019
    • GPS is now able to get a more accurate location
    • Sensors work (gyro, light sensor, etc)
    • Fixed issue with Gapps causes bootloop after installing an update
