I have a PocoPhone F1 with LineageOs & Twrp. I can get into twrp but for whatever reason the touchscreen is not working, so I wanted to flash it with a newer version (to then flash a different rom).
Now the usual method for this is by using fastboot, but fastboot gives me a couple of different errors each time I try use it : "Sending 'recovery' (31068 KB) FAILED (Write to device failed (No such file or directory))" and "Too many links" are the most common ones.
Sometimes it just hangs after I type a command, no error no nothing just a blinking cursor (e.g. I type fastboot reboot and it just sits there).
I don't know if / how I could reflash the recovery. Just loading into it didn't work "fastboot boot recovery.img" "Can't write files to phone". It doesn't list partitions.
I couldn't find a "solo adb" solution since that tool still works. The phone still boots, so it's not a brick.

I'm sorry that I couldn't find a solution on my own

I'm not actually clear what fastboot you are using. The Poco threads suggest Minimal ADB Fastboot. Make sure you are using a good cable, or try different ones. And use a USB 2 port not 3.

Tried using USB 2 / 3, total potato on both. Going to try this on linux. I used the google provided tools (used them when I first installedtwrp & lineageos). Minimal Tools gave a new error :
target didn't report max-download-size
sending 'recovery' (31068 KB)...
FAILED (command write failed (No error))
finished. total time: 0.003s

I definitely agree with doing this on Linux if you can.

I have a One Plus 5 that does not have an A / B partition system, only A (this is the biggest problem), therefore it has not been possible for me to update to android 9 or higher, if I perform a full erase by fastboot (which would be the appropriate commands to use) will it be possible to update to android 9 without problems, without crashes ?, because you have tried it in various ways and it has not been possible, it always crashes and I must restore, what would be the solution ?, thanks for the answer If possible, I would give you more details through my email.
