I found this log of the channel conversation http://irclog.netripper.com/?chan=G2ROOT. I'm going through it now to confirm, but I'm a little worried because the channel status says "no perm root yet" when I logged in just now..
I've only skimmed through the logs, so have probably missed a lot of stuff, but it sounds to me like they've managed to write to the eMMC, but still have a load of work to make it easy/repeatable.
