Here is a sneak preview, what we are experimenting with ...... ok ... we try new styles
But please don´t nail us on this screen... it´s just simple testing..... we don´t know if it´s in final release!

We got a comment on market, that us-providers are not supported yet. That is partially right, but with next update (soon) we integrate hopefully all of it.
And after positive tests, we can say CDMA/EVDO is also completely supportet in next release too. -> http://phonoins.blogspot.com/2010/11/next-relase-todo.html

Is it just me or the operator logo has been turned to white instead of being colored? Looked kinda better before

Found it about 15 minutes after first laying my hands on my phone and loving itsecond: Do you mean the operator logo itself or the signal meter bar? (I think you mean the "3" logo

Yes, I mean the logo on the notification bar, screenshot attached
Before the latest update, the "3" logo was nicely colored (cyan-based with white stripes), now it's plain white.
Not a too big deal and sure not a functionality issue, but it just looked better before

Yep, Stefano already told me in PM about the 3 operator being weird, using different logo colors according to the country and so on...
It's not a big deal, I sure can live with a white logo lol
The app still rocks even if the operator does not have a good taste in logo colors ahahah

Verizon & Sprint issue (1.4a)
First than all HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
Thanks to Larry and DJ, we found that Verizon and Sprint for their CDMA networks do not use unique identifiers, this causes an incorrect view of the Verizon logo.
We have already solved the problem and the solution will be included in the next release.
For anyone who has no time to wait for the official release write to us, we will send directly the fixing.

I like very much your widget but I have a little problem with signal percentage.
With VODAFONE-ITALIA operator, even if I have Full Bar highlighted in my notification bar, Phono shows always 51% fix in widget and in preferences page.
It's possible to fix this problem ?
My device is a Galaxy Mini i 5800 with eclair 2.1

first i thought it is an issue, because the same was showed on my phone, but then i saw i had 58% and 74% too. So phono couldn't be the problem.
Here some details, how phono calculates the signal percentage:
To determine the signal strength dBm is used, Android provides also ASU, which determine the speed at which the phone is able to update its position with the nearby antennas.
Phono uses an algorithm that tasform the asu in decibels to determine the actual signal strength on a linear scale. The bars in the statusbar instead take a range from -112dBm (low) to -60dBm (signal good) and for example when you above -87dBm it shows full, even if it should not. So the graph in the status bar is really approximate.
To further verify what I'm saying you can use: -> Menu -> Settings -> Phone info -> Network (second item) -> Signal strength (second item)
You'll find the specified dBm and ASU, compare them with those of Phono and see which are the same (but do not change location while doing it).

Ever wonder why there is no operator shown on homescreen? The solution is "phono", a operator widget.
"phono" is a widget, with a 1x1, 2x1 & 4x1 style. It shows you operator, phonenumber, signal strenght (graphic and percent), data connection and if you are in roaming or not. Full support for GSM/UMTS & CDMA/EVDO!
There are different widget-styles included. Color customization of operator name and widget text.
Multinumbers SIM support.
4x1 widget show free ROM and SD space, ASU and dBm.
New: by tapping on 4x1 left side will open settings shortcuts (only device with android > 1.6), this function still again in beta, we will implement it (see screenshot below for details about it).
In activity-screen you will see additional information about your phone, signal and data connection, also different phone stats.
Now with Operator Logo on Statusbar!
From 1.6a MVNO logos supported
It also includes different languages (English, Italian, German, Dutch, Spanish, Greece, Russian,Czech).

In this release of Phono we focused to improve the notification, we added the possibility to hide it from the lockscreen and we try to made it more clear.
Here the change log:
- Lockscreen, show or hide notification, read notes please!
- Priority of the notification (high / medium / low)
- WiFi / Mobile icon option in the notification
- Text information on the type of connection in the notification
- Ability to use logos based on the name line or custom even when abroad
- New logos
- Small bugs fixed
