Groundspeak is currently in the process of developing an API for 3rd party applications. Our current plan is to make the API available to a limited group of trusted third parties starting in late January 2011. Once the API has been properly tested, we intend to expand the list of 3rd party developers throughout 2011 and beyond."

Hopefully Tom will have some time to make good use of the API once it is opened up for him!

This is not just an obstacle to developers but to me as a user. I love the fact that I can find an app online for my WinMo phone and install it just like that. I can drag apps from anywhere and generally they will work. I can even decide I want to pay for some apps but generally there will be a free app that is equally as good if not better (just look at GCZII).

There is no way I was going to be locked into iTunes by Apple and I cannot understand why Microsoft would want me to be locked into the MarketPlace. Android doesn't fully tie you in, but they want you to use the App Store.

No way Hosé. I have just bought another two HD2's just to make sure I have a handset still working for the next couple of years with an OS that works and lets me do what I want. Hopefully coders like Tom will keep the updates coming for brilliant apps like this...

There has been talk that MS will bring out a version of WinMo 7 for "Professional" users and that will still be open and based on WinMo 6.5.x (I hope so).

Probablly, the big wave has come at GC.com.
The new changes might be huge impact for GCz.
(Don't know what happen after the maintenounce.)

The first release date of GCz is Dec/17/2008.
So, it was 2 years ago. Time is faster!!

I always tried to fix problems as soon as possible.
And I've got lots of feedback to improve GCz from members here.
I really appriciate all of you!!

Now, I have not decided yet what will continue or dis-continue to work for GCz.
It depends on the side effect of the maintanouce.

I hope, it will not be catastrophic destruction.

thanks

Please don't stop now
Tom

This is by far the best Geocaching application I have used on WinMo. I have paid for two others and have even bought an iPhone to try that application but this is the best by far.

I paid for premium membership when .50 stopped doing it's thing.

I hope that you will keep up the work for us. I will donate.

Thank you in advance.

I must say that of all the Android and WM geocaching apps, GCzII is by far the best! I would encourage you to try to keep it alive at least until GS gives you access the the API. Once that is setup, you should not need to do fixes very often at all.

PS, just checking out GC.com. I don't see any changes. The warning seemd to be more focused on their hardware, than the website.

I've just tried to use GCzII after the major update of GC.com. Everything I've tested works fine.
I think there was no update of the website but an update of the hardware infrastructure.
