I don't think it is bricked but just don't see a way out of it yet. I flashed the boot.img as suggested but I made a mistake I kept the rum_raiderxx.zip in external SD card.

CWM seems to get stuck when I tried to read ext_sd , played with different mount options it did not help.

SO than used adb psuh to insert the zip on main sdcard, that kind of worked but when I hit installed it says failed to open the zip file.

Not sure if it is just permission issue , may be it in...if any one has suggestion please do reply.

After you have pushed the file did you reboot to recovery again?

Yes, just is there any specific sequence to be followed. I am trying to download the package again and see if that helps.

I got CWM to recognize external sd and even that failed , so that prompted me think that I either had bad copy or my download was corrupt.

If you go to the BOOTLOADER of the Vivid/Raider, using any root method and boot unlocker method, your bootloader will report S-ON. We want S-OFF.

Whenever you get an error in cwm and put a new file on, you should reboot to recovery and try the new file.
