I love these mods! I would like to include them in another theme that has a heavily modified framework.apk. Can anyone tell me what xml files are changed to enable these smoothsense mods? Maybe I could compare xml's to find out how to add this mod to another theme I'm using.

The newest OTA doesn't change the framework-res.apk file (what this mod uses) based on my investigation so the mod should work. That said the framework-res.apk that this mod is based on is rather old so some people may encounter problems. The age shouldn't effect anything other than compatibility.

Like I said, there is a new version coming out soon. It would have been out today but my adb drivers decided to disappear and it took me far too long to notice and fix the issue so I didn't get a chance to test out the new version. Hopefully I will have something out tomorrow.

In drawable/

stat_sys_gps_acquiring_anim
stat_sys_upload
zzz_stat_sys_battery_1
stat_notify_sync_anim0 (gets added)

Lots of images in drawable-hdpi and of course don't forget to make sure everything gets added to public.xml

The hardest part of the mod is figuring what and how everything gets edited so you should be well on your way in that regard. The most time consuming thing is the hundreds of extra images you now have to edit.

Thank you so much for this!! I have a question though, I have merged all the xml info into the theme I'm using and changed the png's in drawable-hdpi, but I have no idea how to add things to public.xml. I can't even find it! Google doesn't bring up much either. How do I do this?

Edit: ok I decoded with apktool and found public.xml. I've never done any themeing to this degree before. Anything I should watch out for if I'm just merging xml's?

Merging the public.xml files won't work. You will need to manually add the entries and make sure that each new one has a unique ID. Also make sure you delete stat_notify_sync_anim0.png in drawable-hdpi since I reused that name for the xml file in drawable so as not to have to create a new entry.

I had the same bootloop issue except that I'm using baked snack 1.8, based off of the 3.29 ota... I'm eagerly waiting for an update for this mod :)

Can someone let me know if these files work for them. The battery only one should work, but I am not sure about the other. They are updated but I don't have time to test them on all the roms like I normally would. Once people start confirming they work the OP will be updated.

I'll test out the full and let you know.. here's what happened to me before using the previous version. When I went from BS 1.75 to 1.8 without a wipe, I was able to apply the previous version over my 1.8 update. I had to wipe because going to 1.8 from 1.75 caused some battery issues.

When I fully wiped and reapplied 1.8 then smooth sense, that's when I got the boot loop.... I'll check back in with any info... Since I have my phone backed up, I'll apply the update 1.0.3 version on top right now and back it up. Then I'll wipe and see if I get that same boot loop coming from a fully wiped update.

For the CM6 version you can just flash it over stock CM6.

Thanks. I'll do some testing today.

EDIT: So I tested and 1.0.3 is working on the newest Fresh. When you wiped and applied how did you do it? You need to flash the Rom and have it setup before you apply this mod. You can't flash the rom and the mod in the same go.

Yeah I went to CM6 setting all back to default. No matter what REVolution works perfectly, SmoothSense keeps bootlooping.... I might just be missing something.

There weren't much for instructions on CM6 final. I only saw some notes for RC2.
And my CM settings were stock.. I hadn't changed anything

My background is solid black instead of gradiant and my battery indicator is black and white

I also tried importing the colors from XML like it said for RC2 and that didn't change anything

Ah ok, I did a wipe then flash over without setting up first... which would explain why 1.0.2 worked before I did a wipe previously. Thanks for the heads up.

Sorry, RC2 notes will be the same as the final version. It sounds like it is actually working for you though. The CM6 version is a Smooth-Mod of Manup's REVOlution theme, not of stock sense.

Yeah, I have had lots of issues getting it to work when included in a rom. I managed to get it working for the last OTA but not the current one. It seems for some reason all the stuff that happens during the initial setup don't like my modded versions. Once everything is done there are no issues.

    Hello all. If you venture outside of the Evo section here you may run into one of my favorite mods, Smooth-Sense by Jercik. I'll let him explain the idea behind the mod.

    IMPORTANT (aka please read)

    This mod was originally made for the Desire by Jercik. Most of the credit goes to him. I only ported it to the Evo and used the Evo icon set. You can view the original thread here. If you want to use the Desire and original icon set I suggest using persibro's version.

    This is a framework-res.apk mod so there is a good chance that it will erase any themes you may have applied previously. Send me a PM with a link to your theme and what icons you want to use from my theme and if I have time I will send you a compatible version.

    This mod should work for most of the 2.2 ROMs based off the HTC release (Baked Snack, Fresh, SteelH, etc.). If for some reason it doesn't, let me know and I will throw a working version up.

    Always keep a current nandroid backup before applying any theme, mod, or something that alters the OS or core functionalities.

I have been told that this does not work on the nightlies and no, I will not make a version for them.

    Thanks to BeatBlaster and helping port over Smooth Sense to JsChiSurf's Notification Menu Power Controls and JS's help with getting me the latest Espresso Rosie for 3.70, I've been able to put together a combination of Smooth Sense, Notification Menu Power Controls, and Espresso Rosie into 1 file.
