Back up and running with this kernel and goa trip rc1.

Everything is running great. Quick question.. are the tweaks available in cf tweak app worth using with this kernel?

Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA Premium App

Ah, personally i only recommend it so you can use noatime, other than that the sdcard tweak (which is debate-able) so.. I HIGHLY recommend to NOT use the swappiness tweak, it sets swappiness to 0, which disables swap/zram ...

Please, tell me if this kernel has full voodoo color support for R/G/B adjustment like in CM7's custom kernels??

No, the code is only for nexus s sources (hence why its in CM7, since it uses nexus s kernel sources)...its not available for i9000 gingerbread, but voodoo color is added (same as it was in froyo)

Any chance to integrate RCU fixes (from speedmod or fugumod)? Will it be faster or slower for this kernel?

Edit: And also speedmod's lowmemorykiller tuning?

IMO classical RCU seems to give best performance, atleast in my experience...also we use our own lmk settings, kodos96 has a lmkset added, you can actually adjust different lmk settings in /etc/ram.conf ...theres list of different presets, just change the preset= value to whatever preset, or you can make your own preset.. but the default thats used in 0.2.1 is recommended, its been highly tweaked and tweaked for zram

Awesome work!!! Only thing on my wishlist is a lower minimum brightness (i believe this was achieved by supercurio and implemented in hardcores froyo kernel. not sure if it is integrated into voodoo colour.)

On the interwebz
Was waiting this kernel for a few days, from what i saw, it is a mix of fugumod and GTO kernel, which are two kernel that i love. Testing it right now and i'm really happy. I'm experiencing some lag with graphics.I'm getting something like 9 fps with lava test from Quadrant Standart. I'm using ondemand governor and SIO scheduler OC'ed to 1.2Ghz and UV following the voltage from TK-Glitch kernel. I know it's not the same kernel, but these setting always worked good on my phone ^^.Also, I'm on Goatrip 2.0-RC1. I'll try in a few to start from a clean install to see if it change something. Beside that, i have nothing to say other than i'm waiting next release sticking with this one and i added this page to my favorite :D

You didn't answer, what maube a reason of bootlooping after flashing kernel, i tried everything, via Odin, Heimdall, sgs kernel flasher - the results are the same.
Using Darky's 2.3.3 JVH. Before flashing i'm wiping dalvik. FS are all ext4.
So....?

I am using JVH with Fugumod v4.0 kernel with Ext4 all before this. Flashed via Odin and it seems to be taking very long to boot. Still seeing boot animation ANDROID with LEDs lit up.

Any ideas ?

TalonDEV is for use with Samsung Gingerbread Roms

This kernel is still in a heavy development stage! So there may be bugs!! (hence the DEV tag)

    Current Co-Devs - Kodos96, Ytt3r & zacharias.maladroit

As always, flash at your own risk, im not responsible for any damages!

Talon Source can be found on Github and Google Code

Stay up to date with latest changes on Twitter

Remember, I cant fix stupid or lazy. Please read the whole OP and the first and last 5 pages of this thead!

    Custom Boot Animations
The bootanimation.zip needs to be /system/media/sanim.zip <- notice the name change

    CIFS Support
Mount under /mnt/sdcard/cifs instead of /mnt/cifs.. Also use "Mount Manager" instead of "CIFS Manager"

    Logcat Instructions
To enable/disable Logcat, type "logcat-enable" or "logcat-disable" in a terminal emulator and reboot

    Lowmemorykiller Settings
Talon kernel includes Kodos96's "LMKSet". You can adjust the PRESET=X value in /etc/ram.conf ..
The presets are listed in the file, recommended settings are set by default. Reboot to take effect
Also make sure theres no "ramhack" scripts in /etc/init.d/ , if there is, delete it and reboot.

    To install:
    Flash .tar with Odin/Heimdall
If using Odin place tar in PDA slot

    Enable/Disable Voodoo Lagfix in CWM->Voodoo
Delete Voltage Control settings in CWM->Advanced

    Conservative Governor
Conservative is now a module, to load on every boot, dload file below and place in /etc/init.d/
make sure to remove the .sh at the end of the filename and reboot

    http://berryfx.com/RobBeane/Kernel/Files/enable_conservative.sh

    Code:

    Voodoo Lagfix and Sound v10
    Voodoo Color for 2.3.4

    Upcoming Features <<-Dont ask when!
    More tweaks/options added in CWM

Mirrors for all builds can be found HERE

    Now CWM flashable!
NOTE Zip will wipe cache/dalvik cache during flash, so first boot will take longer

NOTE: BIGMEM version breaks 720p video recording

    Stable Versions

    TalonDEV 0.5.1-RC1 I9000 340MB and BIGMEM

    Test Versions

TalonDEV 0.6.0.1 I9000 340MB and BIGMEM NEW OC APP!

    NOTE
Make sure you are using BusyBox v1.17 or 1.19 before flashing, as
v1.18 (as most roms use), does not have runparts and scripts will not work

We are working out a couple bugs with new OC App, once its ready for release ill get a new test build up.. To OC, simply place script of choice in /etc/init.d/ and set permissions
