It's a different base so you should Defiantly do a clean install, and gapps are in the same link in the OP used to download the rom.

Awesome, one last question. I wont be affected since I'm still on vrlf2 right? I am still fairly new to rooting

Hold back-to-kill doesn't work. Holding volume up or down doesn't change tracks. Can't change font size.

We hope to release another alpha later today. Stay tuned!

When I say alpha, note that this means that some things won't work, full liquid functionality won't be in place, etc. This is an experimental unsupported release. If your phone suddenly joins the SS, or your dog turns into a cat, or even if you suddenly slip into a parallel universe where everything has been shifted over exactly ten inches to the left - don't blame us.

Try the agps test 3 patch in general android development that worked wonders for me. I went from taking five minutes to lock to locking in a couple seconds.

Anyone have an answer to this please?

What exactly are you asking about, you aren't going to be affected by using the f2 modem on this rom? Different modems work differently for people depending on phone, coverage area, rom, and other factors. Generally it seems like the jelly bean modems work better than the ICS modems on jelly bean ROMS. The newest k3 seems to work well for me.

Put it back.

GPS seems to be very much an individual phone thing. My phone consistently gets 12+ sattelites, while I've heard stories like yours as well. The fix mentioned above seems to be the most consistently helpful.

This may be a weird question. I purchased juice defender way back when the dinc first came out and haven't used it since then due to being told it wouldn't work on rom'ed phones. Is this still the case with the liquid smooth rom or am I just screwed for battery life? I love liquid but my battery life is just terrible now with rc9

Juice Defender has been working on my phone with RC5-RC8, so I'd assume it should work on RC9.

So am I correct in assuming the source code once released from Samsung will help with development?

LiquidSmooth is an aftermarket firmware based on the Android Open Source Project.

We are dedicated to providing Android users with smooth, stable and fast Roms. We start with a fast, and lightweight modified AOSP base, and then add the features you crave!

Please feel free to look at and use our code on LiquidSmooth GitHub.

We would like to thank CyanogenMod for their device trees, framework/settings mods and their code that was incorporated into this project. We also extend our gratitude to AOKP and Xylon for parts of their code that we have incorporated.

A huge shoutout to codeworx for his work on the Samsung device trees, especially the t0 platform!

Special thanks to our friends Imoseyon and Franco for their kernels as well!

While we make every effort to test these builds as much as possible, we are not responsible for anything that may happen to your device, family, pets, or perception of reality. We ask that you do your part to know your device and know how to recover from problems before you flash!

Downloads of our LiquidSmooth can be found on our goo.im page or in the goomanager app. You can find us by browsing to liquidsmooth or by searching for compatible roms for your device. Just about any Google Apps package for JB 2.1 should work, though we've provided a link below if needed. Suggested GApps are linked right in goomanager as well. Goomanager will now notify you of upcoming LiquidSmooth updates as well!

If downloading via the goo.im page, please be sure to know which device you are using prior to downloading. All files are listed according to the specific device code name. We cannot be responsible for what happens if the wrong files are flashed to your device! We recommend using the goomanager app and searching for a compatible rom if you are unsure.

Please verify that the device listed on the download links below is your device. Do not flash any files if the device does not match!!!

(now put that that thanks button below on fire, just to make me feel good :p)

Its Christmas folks... and we have a new build up as well :)

Again, we try to address stability issues and a few other things here and there. No changelog would be provided for beta builds though.
Hope you have a good time and Happy Holidays!!

edit: oh yeah, i forgot i am a Thanks hungry fellow. But its Christmas so I guess my sin would be pardoned :p

OP updated with Beta 1C :)

now please bump my thanks counter - i am a greedy fellow :p

Jokes apart, a few stability issues have been addressed here to see if they solve existing problems. A Factory Reset before flashing might not be required. Just wipe your caches.

If you get force close issues, then a full wipe is our only option.

Cheers, and a happy festive week to all :)
