Do you just hate that some games are using low textures, lag or play's in slow-mo, because they don't support the Tegra 3 processor?

Many games on the market works for our HTC One X, but it does not include full textures(or too much), on default, like those of the optimized thd games. This is quite bad, as some games do have very beautiful graphics, but it looks bad on our device or plays bad. The files in here are just modified to let the app "think" we are running a higher resolution device or more/less powerfull device, and allows these modifications to be made. These following methods were created by hamdir, the Tool by Thunder07, and allows this to work flawlessly. Here they are:

Asphalt 7(Beta):

The stock file:
Location:
\Android\data\com.gameloft.android.GAND.GloftA7HP\files\data\DeviceConfig\DeviceConfig.xml

Needs to be replaced with:
Modification:
Asphalt 7 beta

Changes:
  • Added full dynamic reflections without frame rate skip
  • Added traffic shadows
  • Added blur effect on impact
  • Use high quality car shader
  • Use second render targert (bloom)
  • Added swf post effect
  • Added car reflections in garage
  • Increased car detail in gameplay and in garage vs SGS3

If you have modified any app to look better on the Htc One X, please send me a pm, and I'll include it here. Also a very big thanks to hamdir, he provided all the stuff above, and some juicy screenshots to top it all off. Another big thanks goes to Thunder07, for creating the tool to simplify the modding process a lot.

Happy gaming.

It might work or might not. I think it's one of those lucky stuff, either it works or not. You should make a backup and then try. But hamdir did manage to get it to work on arhd, so it should. But please if you are going to try it, make sure you make a backup, otherwise, you can just try the other method.

you dont really need it just enable the 3dots menu for Nova3

yes ok that with chainfire was that what i wanted to know :p^^ i try it the next days....WITH backup :D ....it is easier with suite tools in arhd 9.3.x :p enable 3-dot and yes :p :D

Dunno whether I'm doing something wrong with Asphalt7, I've just bought it/installed and when I go to the location on the SD to alter the file its 0 bytes so no data in so I can't alter/open it when renaming it as a .zip file

Need For Speed Most Wanted v1.0.28 for Android - Tegra 3 performance patch + Multiple configuration patch
update: You can now use Game Modder to easily patch your game, check NFSMW v1.0.28 Game Modder Packed here

Yet again a new game running badly on our Tegra 3 device, on the One X the game is running in full effects mode which is a little heavy for the Tegra 3 GPU, it runs smooth but slow, on the Nexus 7 by default it runs in a slightly reduced mode which is both much faster and smoother

Investigation revealed this game automatically scales depending on your device CPU speed, which is an odd choice considering CPU speed does not reflect the GPU, both the Nexus 7 and One X are the same they only differ with 200mhz in the CPU clock, this mass yet inaccurate auto configuration method is becoming more popular with games, it's the price we have to pay for android devices' fragmentation

Since the Nexus 7 is 1300mhz instead of 1500mhz, its calling a faster graphics configuration then the One X, you get most effects except mainly the blur and slight optimization to the particles and clipping

This patch consists of two methods, one will run the game the exact same as the Nexus 7 on the One X and the other more advanced method will allow you to scale the game graphics configuration to your taste

    Before you start:

    - Back your SD files just in case, copy the sdcard/android/data/com.ea.games.nfs13_na to your PC

In case you bought this game from ea europe you will need to rename "com.ea.games.nfs13_row" to "com.ea.games.nfs13_na" on your sdcard/android/data/

    - If you have root, back up your game with Titanium backup

    - You will still need the Gaming Boost App to make it run even better

    - If you are a fan of the stock 2.17 kernel, check out the gaming enhanced version by n3ocort3x

Need For Speed Most Wanted v1.0.28 - Nexus 7 Mode Patch for all Tegra 3 devices

This patch will force the game to run in the same optimized high quality mode and speed of the Nexus 7 version on all other Tegra 3 devices (suffering in fps due to max graphics)

If you have a Nexus 7 with stock kernel and clock speed it will make no difference, if you want to try higher quality graphics use the multiple config patch, however if you are using the Nexus 7 with a higher 1.5ghz clocked kernel you will need this patch to force the game to run in the faster Tegra 3 mode again

    - Download NFSMW.v.1.0.28.MOD_Nexus7.rar, use my username to extract the file (link removed due to mod's request)

    - Don't uninstall your game! simply install the patch over it

Enjoy smoother and faster Tegra 3 version of this game (runs 45-60fps for my Tegra 3 One X with gaming boost 2.1 and NCX gaming kernel, except when there are police road blocks (on all tegra 3 devices the moment the road blocks are announced on the radio the frame rate dips until your cross them, a clear culling issue)

Need For Speed Most Wanted v1.0.28 - Multiple Configuration Patch

    Now the fun part

    - Download NFSMW.v.1.0.28.MOD_Scaler.rar, use my username to extract the files (link removed due to mod's request)

    - Don't uninstall your game! simply install the patch over it

    - Copy the nfsmw_scaling file to the root of your SD card, this file will be used by the game to tell your "fake" CPU speed, simply edit the file with Root explorer and set the speed you like with one if the following modes:

1500000 = 1.5ghz - 1.4ghz = Full effects mode with motion blur, slow (i'm not sure if higher means more)
1300000 = 1.3ghz - 1.1ghz = Optimized full effects mode without motion blur, just like it runs on the stock Nexus 7, faster
1000000 = 1.0ghz - 900mhz = Less effects, no fog, no RT reflections, no water on the street, just like it runs on stock Nexus 10, faster
    800000 = 800mhz - 100mhz = Low quality, super fast

The number has to be in the proper digits, also failing to place this file on the SD will default the game to the low quality 512MB mode

You can make scripts with echo command to change the values on the fly

In general the lower the speed the smoother it gets and the worse the graphics, still miles ahead of Asphalt 7

Enjoy your own graphics configuration just like you do on your PC

Recommendation for the HTC One X Tegra 3

The Nexus 7 patch or the 1300000 mode is good in initial levels, except the lag during road blocks, sadly later on with faster cars fps does suffer, keeping in mind the internal view doesn't have to draw your car and has much higher fps, i have concluded the following:

    - If you like to play from internal view, i recommended the Nexus 7/1300000 mode you get to enjoy the extra track effects at good fps, even road blocks lag is minimized

    - If you like to play from external view, you will have to settle with the 100000 mode, this is the mode running on the Nexus 10, the graphics still look massively better than Asphalt 7 and there are two bright sides no lag whatsoever on roadblocks and with the fog removed you get to enjoy much further draw distance

    - If you still like to play the external view plus 1300000 i suggest you try the Gaming kernel and set the scheduler to SIO using SetCPU this will eliminate much of the micro stutters (do it once and it will stick for good)
Alternatively you can try Eternity Project kernel, fastest but complex kernel for gaming and runs 1300 mode very smooth
Gaming Boost App is essential as well
