Well, it seems as if I got myself into a bit of a brickle...
I ended up with data in 4 locations.
There is data in:
data/media/
data/media/0
/storage/emulated/0
/storage/emulated/legacy/
There is one Simlink in
/storage that points to
sdcard0 -> /storage/emulated/legacy
Another one in File system root that says
SDCard -> /storage/emulated/legacy
My Nandroid Backups are saved in /data/media and if I boot into CWM recovery that is the folder that is displayed as possible zipfile location.
The /data/media/0 folder contains part of the contents of /data/media, but not all of it. The same applies to /storage/emulated/0 and /storage/emulated/legacy
What calls my attention is that there is no simlink whatsoever in /storage/emulated/0 and /storage/emulated/legacy that would point to either of the data/media folders.
Here is what happened chronologically ordered:
- Backed up user apps and data with titanium.
- Made a Nandroid Backup with TWRP
- Odined CWM 6.036
- Factory reset/Wiped and wiped cache
- Installed Nightly 20131208 and Gapps
- Booted into system, setup google and installed Titanium from playstore
- Now I wanted to restore the previously made backup, but Titanium could not find the backup folder and even a device-wide search would give no results.
- To solve the problem, I went into /data/media and copied the Titanium folder over to /storage/emulated/0 in order to be able to restore the apps.
- restored apps and apps data. They all function perfectly, are correctly linked to playstore and retained all their data BUT I have no bl..... idea which of the 4 data storage is the good one and should be retained. What should/could be erased and where the actual data is being saved now.
Sorry for the long post! I spent half the night looking through similar threads but they all point out that the data is saved in /data/media and the storage/emulated/* only containes simlinks. I have not encountered a similar case like mine, so I wonder what is the best way to proceed.
Should I wipe the whole system formatting storage completely and start from scratch by saving all relevant to PC and then restoring apps from Titanium?
Maybe I should move this to a new thread in the Q&A section?
Thanks!!
