Can you flash again with RSD lite? I also faced the same problem as you are facing now. But my phone is running fine without ROOT. I don't remember what I did.

Delete your current XML folder and extract again. After that follow guide in first post. Try to Boot with BP Tools again.

I think he didn't install the Update.zip.

This is no downgrade - method!

If your phone doesn't boot into recovery after flashing with RSD by its own, than you have to do it manually on usual way.

But there aren't possibilities to boot first the T-mobile 2.3.6 to restore root?

Then you have to boot into Recovery via AP Fastboot and install the 4.0.4 OTA again!
