No risk in restoring his nv file, if those nv's are not active on your device they will not be written

finally broke down and actually did it. phone still working but don't have an aws sim card to test. maybe i will go to the wind mobile store to see if i can test it. there were still a few differences from manni'k's nv dump but those were not related to the new items added. so i can confirm it's safe to do this mod.
Hi Guys,
This is a very intresting thread and I'm also trying to enable AWS on my ATT note 2. I have spent last 7 hours searching and trying various things to update the nv settings for the radio. Now I have broken down and feel a need to ask.
I made several backups of NV using NV_items reader / writer and QXDM / QPST. I tried to compare my nv file to the one that manni'k's have posted to see what changes i need to make. I understand that I have to add my own IMEI number on line 550 which is not a problem. So after adding that line to manni'k's file i tried to write the text file using N-items reader-writer v1.0 using option write, but as many of you have stated that it does not work.
So basiclly now I'm stuck at how to write that TEXT file format using the QXDM/QPST as it uses are different file extension to make a backup file and uses that to restore. Can someone please highligt the missing link how you guys able to write the NV file from manni'k's post to your phone and enable the AWS.
Thanks
nAV
1am... Still haven't got home... Later on if you want we can try more things, but on the T889 this time... I317 have been working flawlessly the whole day... Not a single issue on T-Mobile's HSPA+ and AT&T's LTE network... Thank you a lot...

Okay, listen, what you need to do is just get a copy of an NV backup of the T889 (someone you might know with a TMo Note 2) Restore it on your I317 and Done... Easiest, secure, and fastest way... The same thing applies the other way around...
i have both phones. going to try your method when i get home. if i break down, will ask sjravi to do it remotely..

So I'm about ready to pull the trigger but wanted some clarification due to conflicting reports in this thread.
I've read that if you are not in an LTE area, the phone will default to edge, even in refarmed 1900mhz areas. Can someone elaborate, confirm, or deny? Thanks. (BTW I'm referring to T-Mobile)
Anybody have a working link for QTSP or QXDM?
So the tool that is needed to flash the zip file or restore current backup is QXDM?
thanks in advance
