Thats really strange, I manage about 36-48 hours or even more with 2G always on (for Gtalk and mail) moderate use of phone and a lot of Smurfs Village (its a battery hog...)

Do you use JuiceDefender? I just got it and it fixed my awake problem. The battery usage is much much better now. I am at about 10 hours of normal usage and it is still at 76%.

To you it works correctly the button 2g/3g of notifications bar? To me, sometimes it does not work properly, does not change 2g to 3g and loses coverage

I also had this problem, tried both Fix permissions and wipe cache/dalvik but didn't work, I Formatted System, Data, Cache (Hard Reset) then installed lastest build

Does it work now?
For the time, where the clock freezed, I disabled the clock in the Statusbar and looked only on the Analog clock - Widget. Another way.

Yeah approx. 12 hours then battery is by normal usage (no video playing etc. )
low.

DOnt forget guys its alpha.

I know it just is an alpha release, but I was just wondering what kind of batterylife other users are getting.

Didn't do a real factory reset before flashing CM9 so maby that is the problem. A clean start is probably better when flashing.

2G Toggle

Same here.
The only way to fix this is rebooting the phone.
Although it happens again later

Sent from my GT-I9001 using XDA Premium HD app

I've viewed logcat output while I was de-/activating Mobile Data and 2G-Toggle once in system settings and once in status bar.

Before I tried out I've selected "2G/3G+2G" in Settings > System > Notification drawer > Widget buttons > Network modes.

The problem is not the 2G-Toggle itself, it works without problems on my phone.
It seems to be the function which will be called when I want to toggle via status bar which "ends" in a loop with these three lines:
Code:
D/PhoneToggler(905): handleGetPreferredNetworkTypeResponse: modemNetworkMode = 7
D/PhoneToggler(905): handleGetPreferredNetworkTypeReponse: settingsNetworkMode = 0
D/PhoneToggler(905): handleGetPreferredNetworkTypeResponse: else: reset to default

I don't know how to stop the looping conditions, but I guess it's just a small bug which will be fixed soon. As long as it won't works you could hold the toggle-button and toggle in the appearing menu

in the attachment first you can see a successful toggle to 2G-only and then a failed toggle to 2G+3G. It looks like "modemNetworkMode = 7" has to be "modemNetworkMode = 1". I tested multiple times and if toggle back to 2G+3G was successful modemNetworkMode was 1.

blaaa... I hope this helps :p

Yes, I also think this should have a low priority, because for me it's not important. If I want to watch my videos, I use an alternative videoplayer from the market, so we shouldn't spam this thread with things like this.

Please verify the md5sum to be sure you got the right one.
Before you install CM9: Preparation (First three are optional. If you want to start fresh, these can be skipped)

    1. Install AppBak from Market, run it and save a list of all your apps.
    2. Install SMS Backup and Restore from Market, run it and backup your SMS history.
    3. Install Call Logs Backup and Restore from Market, run it and backup your call log history.
    4. Boot into CWM5 recovery. Make a full backup. You will need this backup later if you decide to go back to your previous ROM and data.
WARNING: Many apps will Force Close crash if you restore data from a previous ROM.

    Install

    1. Use CWM5 or CWM6.
      For flashing with Odin: recovery-clockwork-5.5.0.4-ariesve.tar.md5 | recovery-clockwork-6.0.1.2-ariesve.tar.md5 (Needs AriesVE.ops)
For using dd command to flash: recovery-clockwork-5.5.0.4-ariesve.zip | recovery-clockwork-6.0.1.2-ariesve.zip
    2. Wipe data and cache.
    3. Flash update*.zip.
    4. Flash gapps*.zip. You must flash gapps after every upgrade to CM9 since /system is formatted, wiping your previous add-ons.
    5. Reboot phone.
    6. After you setup your Google account, reinstall the three apps from Market in order to restore most of your apps, call log and SMS history.
    7. Warning: Do not restore backup data of system apps!
      • If you restore a bad backup with cached settings in telephony.db in data/data/com.*.*.telephony it can break MMS.
      • It seems that restoring backups can also break Calendar sync.
    Upgrades
Upgrades from previous versions of CM9 are the same process as install, except you do not need to wipe anything. Contrary to popular belief, you do not need to even wipe cache and dalvik-cache when upgrading between CM9 versions. You only need to wipe if you are doing a major upgrade, switching to a different ROM entirely, or attempting to fix bugs caused by bad backups or corrupt app data.
