@DooMLoRD I tried using your v4 tool to backup the TA partition the other day and the service menu failed to crash. I tried running v4 again and I get this message when trying to push the exploit across:

Code:
Failure [INSTALL_FAILED_DEXOPT]

Cleanup failed and I suspect it is because it never installed it.

I tried again after killing adb and powering my phone down and starting it again and now I get this error:

Code:
Failure [INSTALL_FAILED_UID_CHANGED]

As per your post in the exploit thread, I ran the uninstall command and recieved this error:

Code:
adb uninstall com.peniscorp.bobsgamecontrols
Failure

Can I just run your new root exploit or will it fail? If it fails how do I fix the above problem?

My final question (I am new to Sony, so sorry for bugging you) would a factory reset from Backup & Restore menu be a clean ROM install?

Waiting for your pre-rooted .402 too

    ETA 24h tops

    How to root .402

How to root your .402 with locked bootloader

    1. Root your device using firmware 17.1.A.2.55/.69 with exploit
    2. Backup your TA if you haven't using @DevShaft latest Backup-TA tool from here : http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=2292598
    3. Install .402 firmware
    4. Unlock your device bootloader using flashtool
    5. Then install DooMLoRD's Advance stock kernel for .402 from here http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=2764963 using fastboot
    6. reboot your device into recovery and install latest version of SuperSU from here http://download.chainfire.eu/447/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.99r4.zip
    7. boot your device and maksure to run the SuperSU app once and update the binary using Normal method if necessary
    8. Put your device into flashmode and Flash .402 stock Kernel only using .402 FTF (Untick APPSLOG, CACHE, DATA from Wipe and tick all except for KERNEL from Exclude in Flashtool)
    9. Reboot your device and double check if you still have the root
    10. Then Use Devshart's Backup-TA tool to restore your TA-Partition
    11. Restart your device now you have rooted .402 firmware with locked bootloader ;)

Do this at your own risk

Those who have Bootloader unlock allowed:No gonna have to wait till NUT's dual recovery for locked bootloader and update zip package. This method should work for any firmware releases in the future
