Recently bought myself a second hand HOX with a cracked screen. It was really cheap and a new digitizer was included.
I didn't look into it really, but i noticed the phone didn't find a network to connect to. Well, i started to pull the screen out to change the digitizer and realized it wasn't that easy...the screen fell apart actually...so now i'm awaiting a new complete screen assembly.
But i recalled the problem with the 'no sim card found'. Is that a common problem or did i buy a phucked up phone? I did order a new sim tray to the phone as well.
I've tried to find a 'clean' AOSP, but haven't found any or am i just a bit blind? It would be nice to find one, already up and running, but if i have to, i'll build one from source.
I'm sure i'll be asking a few more questions in the near future...
