This might be a stupid question, but where do I find the pit-file? Wasn't one included in the download from SamFirmware.

Edit: Indeed it was a stupid question. Please ignore :)

Worked like a charm. Thanks again.

have you tried pershoots kernel? if so, how does it work?

answer my own question. I have now pershoots kernel and runs 1.4ghz and it works great.
This setup is the best for me so far and I have tried most of the available custom roms out there.
The thing I noticed most is that the browser is fast as hell, load page extremely fast.

You need to add pit if you are adding the bootloader

Better still if you want to flash the bootloader you must
Include the pit and tick repartition

If i want to flash the bootloader do i just add it into odin where it says bootloader? Or do i have to click the update phone bootloader aswell? Im unsure never had to do it before

Just add the bootloader on the bootloader don't tick the update phone bootloader
You also need the pit file where it says pit and you need to tick repartition
Pls read several posts before and pls read a small guide I have on another post kh5
http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1304529
The procedure is exactly the same
Except here you are adding a new bootloader automatically

I read through the thread and I have some more questions on things that are not clear to me.

If not flashing the bootloader we do not need to use the PIT file?

The PIT file is the same one as the one that is found in the KH5 post thread?

Thanks :D

That's right no bootloader means no need to flash pit and no need to tick repartition
And yes pit file is the same
The pit file is for P7510

I loaded this file and also included the bootloader. In case if I wish to load any other files or root the unit, do I have to do anything special? Also if a new kies update pops up can I just load it? Thank you all in advance!

The question is:

I loaded this particular KH8 file with this particular bootloader. When a new updates shows up on Kies or if somebody posts a newer file like KI2 on the forum, is it going to be a problem to just load it over or I have to do something special so I do not brick my SGT?

This might sound stupid to some of the members, but please understand. Thank you.

I came from kme to kh5 to kh8
Had no problem and that's because with odin I chose to load the bootloader and so had to select pit and repartition
That cleans your phone wipes all so there will be no issues

Install with recovery mode or clockwork

Update superuser with the market and the SU binary with superuser.
And download busybox from the market (busybox installer)

    Did it wipe anything?
Could you so helpful and write a detailed 'how to' on how you did everything?

    Thanks.

I created a post on kh5 its in essence the same procedure
Instead that the bootloader goes into the boot section and code into pda
Once all is done and the tab reboots for the first time it will ask you for a password..?? dont know why
but what i did was to go to recovery (stock 3e recovery) and wipe everything and clear cache
rebooted again and all back to normal (ie to the tab setup wizard)

and yes if you choose to flash the bootloader is good practice to In odin to tick the repartition box.
this will wipe everything including stuff u have in ur sd partition so backup backup!.
it makes everything clean though :)
read that thread as it tells you what to do in terms of rooting and installing CWM
