-Open odin
-plug phone into usb with USB debugging enabled
-open command prompt and get to the android-sdk-windows
-adb reboot download

That should work perfectly. Takes all the guess work of trying to get it into the download mode.

Thanks this worked for me as well

Uhm i think i did a big mistake... i have an s6 edge+ and i tryed to root it with odin... and i dont know why but i bricked it it shows me the samsung logo and the phone model at the start (as normally)
but there is a message on the top left corner saying <<KERNEL IS NOT SEANDROID ENFORCING>>
i wanted to install the stock firmware but everytime i try odin says
<ID:0/003> Odin engine v(ID:3.1203)..
<ID:0/003> File analysis
And it stays like this...
can you please help me? thank you.

Here's everything I've tried

1) Change USB port
2) Administrator mode and XP SP3 compatibility (i'm on w7 x64)
3) Re-partition checked/unchecked
4) Rebooted phone
5) rebooted computer
6) removed sim card and sd

What am I missing?

Solved mine by using an old version of Odin, I use Odin 3.07 and it's not stopping on file analysis
