If you would have read the few (relatively) pages that this thread is long, you would have read that it is not necessary to hard reset your phone, as this rom does not change anything in the OS part of your phone. You can just flash the radio and see if it works with your current settings.

When looking at what users have posted in this thread, it seems that the 2.06.51.07 version works best for most people, but depends on where you live. In the UK there is clear agreement that its the best one for both battery life and reception- personally I get 2 days of use out of my phone now with regular usage (30mins to 1hr of calling per day, syncing gmail every 30 mins, weather update every 3hrs, browsing the net for ~1hr every day, listening to music via headphones for ~1hr with screen brightness set to automatic). It really seems to be a brilliant radio this one, and I'm running it in combination with the official 1.48 rom (WWE)...

Hi Les_Paulde.

I'd like to upgrade Radio to 2.06.51.07, can't download it from any of the links I've found here. Keeps sending me to Rapidshare.... Continuous error saying no more free slots, but I can buy premium service to download immediately....

Can you point me towards somewhere I can download it from with the RUU packaged.

New radio working with AT&T 3G?

Does anyone know if any of the new radios will allow connection to AT&T 3G services (enabling other frequencies for the 3G radio)?

I am on radio 2.06 and i find it to be horrible. battery life seems to be better than stock 1.43 ROM but reception is bad and im on O2. max 2 bars whether GSM (G1 always had full bars in the area i tested) and 3G is weak. im considering 2.05 radio. i live in the UK also.

could i have a bad radio flash?

since everyone has better luck with 2.06 in the UK, i will reflash the radio and hopefully will fair better. ive had problems with data connection of GSM 3G and HSUPA always referring me to configure connection. will post feedback.

i had the same with the 2.06 radio on o2. battery life was dreadful, went down 5% in ten mins.

Hi Guys,

Ever since I updated to 2.06.51.07 Radio the reception has dropped, now in office 1 or 0 bars all the time...

Since the links are not working due to very busy server or whatever reason, can some one please post a mirror link to the previous Radio roms?

Much appreciated help :)

Cant install rilphone

Hi
I installed radio rom for 1.61 and installed and it works ok. Now I want to install the rilphone for 1.61 too. I downloaded the 1.61 rilphone from this thread. I looked over the forums for install instructions and it says rename it rilphone2.dll put in windows directory and change registry to look for rilphone2 instead of rilphone
I did this but no more network!! Changed registry back and its ok again. So how do i get it to use new rilphone? Looking in the windows directory there is actually no rilphone.dll only a file called "ril". I doubt it is using "ril" as the original registry key was pointing to rilphone.dll.
Any ideas?
Also does anyone know if the 2.x ROMS and associated Radio ROMS are for US only? I'm on UK Vodafone and wanted the latest. I have 1.61 and matching radio as I assumed this was the latest WWE but wonder if I can use 2.x?

Just say woww with the newest radio.... I've just tested within 3hours.... better wifi signal... quite improve in battery life and device is not much hot than before.... testing more :D

I have issues with 2.07, seems that it doesn't like the SD card to much, whenever i try to start Igo8 i get some database error cause it can't find the sd card for some reason (though i can access it through file explorer and such).

Switching back to 2.06 :)

You didn't have the phone plugged into the computer did you?

If I have my phone attached to the computer then try and run any program that resides on the SD card it fails.

Same experience here... I downloaded this morning and usually I get ZERO or ONE signal bars on 3g there but now its looking much better :)

Need to test more and will update again :D

    Installing:
    For installing a RADIO ROM you need HardSPL installed to your device.
    Rename the extracted file to "RUU_Signed.nbh" and flash with the CustomRUU: it won't hardreset your device.


    FAQ:
    *-What is the .7z extension? How can I decompress it?
    * The .7z extension is a 7-Zip compressed file. You can decompress it with the latest version of almost every (de)compression software. Anyway, the best for decompressing 7z files is 7-Zip (Freeware).

    *-What is a Radio ROM?
    * The Radio ROM is the software part of your device that is powering on/off and controlling your radio interfaces. This includes Bluetooth, 2G/3G Phone, WiFi, GPS..... And it also includes the OEMSBL (Radio BootLoader) and other device specific firmwares needed for using your radio interfaces and for interfacing them with the OS (Windows Mobile/Android).

    *-What is rilphone.dll?
    * rilphone.dll is a Windows Mobile "driver" that tells to your OS what are the commands suitable for your Radio ROM. When a new Radio ROM is released, sometimes a new rilphone.dll will come with it because a new radio may contain a new command for a different scope (battery optimization, best signal calibration, etc..)

    *-How can I install a new rilphone.dll to my already installed ROM?
    * You can make a CAB or use Resco Explorer... However, it has to be put in \Windows\ directory (and, of course, you need to reboot after the installation!)

    *-Why change rilphone.dll?
    * Replacing your rilphone.dll is a dangerous task and it should be done only if you experience real problems with your current one. Remember that rilphone is an essential library for your phone to work correctly, so.. you can break the phone part of your ROM or make it to work correctly with your current radio (but in any case this can't break your device's hardware). In short, replace it only if you know what are you doing!!

    leoadvancedruu highly advised to flash radio rom without hard-reset.

    for now, those can be used until kholk reuploads them elsewhere.

    RADIO Mirrors added

    Hello everyone,
    i'd just like to inform you that i have added all Radios mirrored by HD2Owner (thank you, Sir!) to my own MediaFire HD2 Repository, which anyone may access to their liking. The Link is in my Signature.
    By the looks of it, the 2.09 Radio versions are gone from HD2Owner's mirror, so i cannot provide links to them either. I suppose they must be flawed or something.
