This is a full WM6.5 rom with a bunch of HTC enhancements. Mostly are from Mega packages, the others are kept up to date periodically (fot those that work still with this old hardware). Interfaces that can be found in it are Titanium and m2d2, up to user's choice. The difference with other roms is that it uses a hacked WM6.5 kernel from another device, thanks DFT group. This permits to run MSbuilds without any recmod, and same for the HTC packages, thus keeping good speed and optimal stability, without any trade-off. The HomePainted value average is about 34 seconds, which is rather excellent for a "full" rom
Preview :
Features:
- 2DManila_2_0_20163224_00 based main interface, fast flip_flop clock, Titanium also available as an alternative (built-in), Lockscreen from hTC_Mega, Mega_dialer, finger-friendly UI
- Proprietary monoKrom2 theme ( mostly black & green )
- 101,8 Mo RAM available, WM6.5 native kernel, no recmod has been done
- IE is not laggy ( no recmod of modules + smart_rOm cache values )
- Lots of tweaks and bug-fixes included in this release, that was hard work
- Quite good speed, stable rom
- Post-Install optimized for the SFR network. If you have different carrier, just remove "TV-musiqueSFR_FRA_WWE.cab" and "U_SUPL_AGPS_update.reg" from XDA_UC folder before flashing, all other elements good to keep.
Here are a few hints I give you, in order to have proper rom function and less bugs possible. Hopefully
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- 1st of all, follow those 5 simple steps:
1°) Before flashing you should always have Hard_SPL installed.
Refer to the XDA Polaris general section to download and install it correctly, in case you don't have it installed.
Otherwise, flashing of the rom is likely to be unsuccessful.
2°) Unzip XDA_UC folder and all of its content to the root of your SD before the flash for the best experience.
It will install :
- Connection_Setup (automatically defines your internet & mms settings at 2nd boot, must-have; updated gfx version)
- Google Maps v.4.1.1(#1), (needed for m2d2 referring page to work)
- GPsMod_Driver (useful utility to get better, more sensitive GPS module, lag correction; follow on-screen instructions to configure your GPS software for new ports
- HTC_Calculator ( opens quick, supports sci display in landscape, will also be suppressed the defaut WM calculator .lnk, youpee)
- Kevtris_2 (cool additional game, optional)
- YouTube 2.4.4 "official" (needed for m2d2 referring .lnk in internet tab to work)
- some needed .reg "after_boot" tweaks
3°) Please, do a favour and do flash last 3.13 or 3.19 official Polaris hTC rom before that one.
It is 100% required to avoid strange bugs and vital for proper rom function.
4°) Once you successfully flashed the official rom, verify you have the required radio; I recommend Radio_Polaris_1.59.46.12 or even Radio_Polaris_1.65.38.14.
How I proceed: I let the offical hTC rom boot to align screen, then pass device into bootloader mode and then flash radio.
Hint: If you have already 1.65.38.14, downgrade radio first to 1.59.xx.xx or it won't let you flash original HTC rom
5°) Once radio is flashed, your hTC will reboot. Wait for align screen again, then flash my rom.
Afterwards, it's OK, you'll be 100% hassle free for sure
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The customization of the rom is automatic and only require you follow the basic procedure :
- 1st boot will lead you to calibration screen. It can be long and you can loose some of the backlight, so don't loose your temper you'll eventually get to Calibration Screen
Calibrate, eventually set the date and time ( ActiveSync of WDMC will do it automatically afterwards eitherways ). Then, soon afterwards you'll see a XDA_UC message, follow on-screen instructions till the device asks for a reset. Don't use device during install of XDA_UC, device will be very slow and buggy. When the device asks for a reset, press "Yes".
- 2nd boot will lead you to Connection_Setup. it will sort out your internet connection, mms server profile and so on automatically. Just choose your provider in the list and let it go.
- Once those 2 steps are done, no reboot required, you can finally activate your preferred GUI : Sense or Titanium.
Hint: Connection_Setup can be uninstalled afterwards if you wish. If you want to remove the huge provision database also ( 2MB free more), you can run the"conncleanup" mortscript provided as bonus. Put it
conveniently at root of SD and run it, but not in XDA_UC folder please
Once done, basic default rom install will give you about 106 MO free storage space onboard.
Hint: Free RAM : 48 Mo average with m2d2 running all times, no extra soft running. It will boot m2d2 with 58,35 Mo RAM free ( once m2d2 and taskmanager just loaded ).
Hint: if you wish to free up some RAM, after using close Audio_Manager with the X at right top of its own screen, or it will likely stay in background and consume RAM for nothing ...
Hint: Alarms will wake up correctly after ActiveSync/ WDMC synchro. Don't forget to check that in Clocks & Alarms, hitting the little "bell" symbol; "Play a sound" and "Repeat the sound" are ticked, I suggest using "Alarm5" but it's really up to your taste ...
Hint: to setup Gmail account, use "Outlook" type in the droplist. when it asks for username, add your "@gmail.com" at the end, leave domain blank, server is "m.google.com"
Hint: while finished setting of an email account, use Start / Connectivité, open ActiveSync screen to get proper 1st connection. Will not be required afterwards. Sometimes it is required you run a 2nd sync manually to get your all contacts back (e.g. gmail based)
