I'm still (try to) working for vega. lately I'm watching the work for .36 kernel on modaco, I checked Viewpad10s v1.11 kernel source, and I bought EM770W only for dev work on vega(borrowed, not owned).

but, I don't have enough time at all.

I saw some complains about progress in CM nightlies. as a user of CyanogenMod, I don't feel any motivation from it. if I'm a dev(member of CyanogenMod team), I will not feel any responsibility. I'm just working for my fun.

no way... i am done with XDA - as many many other devs are... i accepted my google account email to be converted... i just checked back here to see if someone already mentioned nightlies are back

if it worked before, it should work now - no big changes on the core. bumble bee replaced his vega for an transformer, i never was big into kernel stuff and no idea about the status of fun_

Hi mad-murdock,
would change to Google+ if it would allow me to do so, but my account cannot be moved (linked to my own domain). The internal modem and GPS was only working on one patched version made by fun_. It was never working in the nightlies.

Hi fun_,
Sorry if my posts look like a complain. Didn't want to complain, just asked. Your support for the CM helped me a lot and its too bad that it never went into the nightlies.

Looks like I will have to stick to VegaComb, which supports internal 3G (but no GPS yet).

Hi
Been using this thread to connect to CM7 Nightlies since I first
got an Android Phone and Advent Vega. Tried to go to the Mirror site on the
first page to download the latest for my Vega and cannot connect to Cloudfare???
What is this and how do I connect to nightlies now.

About lacking functionality of cwm :

I think this problem occured before. My cwm ain't able to boot the device, too, but I can get there by using the 'recovery' option in the tiny reboot menu. But after the last flashing this option was deactivated in the cm7 menu.

I need a bit of help.

I've installed the latest nightly, coming from stock 1.10.
I have cm7 on my phone and want it on my tablet as well. But I'm having a problem which if I can't solve will force me away from it.

When I try to install some apps, flash player, YouTube etc. It says that the apps aren't compatible with my device.

Anyone have any idea on how to solve it?

cheers but that didn't work, according to the cyanogem mod vega forum a few have been having this issue since the 5th of October.

It's a pity, I really wanted to use this but no flash means changing back to vegacomb.

***edit***
It would appear that google has banned all the vegas from the market place, becuase they are unsupported devices.

Official response.
According to our records, the device that you are using is not supported for use with Android Market at this time.

The Android operating system is open source, which means that any device manufacturer is free to use Android on its devices. However, Android Market is an application created by Google that is only made available to devices that pass Google’s compatibility requirements. In addition, manufacturers must obtain a license from Google in order to install Android Market on their devices.

For more information about the Android Compatibility Program, please visit:

http://source.androi...lity/index.html

If you have any further questions, I recommend contacting the manufacturer of your device directly. I’ve provided a link below for your convenience:

http://www.adventcom...o.uk/contact-us

If I can help you with anything else, please let me know.

what I checked,

1. flash vanila vega rom v1.10 & boot (just to clarify)
2. install clockworkmod recovery & recovery app for stock rom & reboot recovery
3. install cm_vega_full-227.zip (w/o DSPManager) & gapps-gb-20110828-signed.zip & factory reset & reboot
4. setup wifi & market
5. Adobe Flash Player 11 & NVIDIA Tegra Zone can't be installed at this point
6. reboot recovery from power menu (of course it works)
7. install modified cm_vega_full-227.zip with qemu.sf.lcd_density=160 (as same as just changing build.prop) & reboot
8. still Adobe Flash Player 11 & NVIDIA Tegra Zone can't be installed
9. Settings -> Applications -> Manage applications -> Market -> Force stop & Clear data
10. Adobe Flash Player 11 & NVIDIA Tegra Zone can be installed

Market app was updated from 3.1.3 to 3.1.5 while checking above, but it should not be important.

this issue and solution were also reported on other forum/thread since (at least) August.

google never supports market on vega and many other unsupported phones/tablets since epoch time clearly. no need to ask google.

Has anyone noted a problem when using the nightlies and the BBC iPlayer...?

When using the iPlayer to play full screen videos it all becomes garbled. It will work in a small Window and it will only work for full screen to show the BBC type logo and introduction. As soon as the programme starts to stream it will then just be a garbled mess.
The Corvus ROM works fine with the iPlayer in full screen.

    What are nightly builds?
Nightly builds are automated builds from latest cyanogenmod sources. they are not tested in deepth like RC's or stable versions. In most cases they work without any issues. Thats because all patches get reviewed before they are merged into sources - this way, merging of bad code doesnt happen very often.

Since vega does not have official nightly status yet, i do semi-official builds for you on a semi regular basis. We will get official nightlies, once bluetooth is working - but that is a pretty complicated issue.

    Vendor vega
The vendor vega is currently for Advent Vega and PoV Mobii devices. There might be more added later on.

    Official nightly mirror
    http://mirror.teamdouche.net/?device=vega

    Update 31.05.2011
buildbot had a hdd crash, and it can take some more days until nightlies are back online. that long, i might post semi-official nightlies here.

    mirror1: cm_vega_full_teamdesire-20110531-1412.zip size: 66M (68406215 bytes)
    mirror2: cm_vega_full_teamdesire-20110531-1412.zip md5sum: 3b8bb1c21cb7c992927566a609a8c21d

    Nightly changelog
    http://cm-nightlies.appspot.com/?device=vega

    Nightly install instruction
    Coming from another rom?
    • Do a full wipe in clockwork mod recovery
    • Install latest nightly build from here
    • Flash latest gapps from here
    • reboot
    • do the first-time-run-setup wizard
    • if you dont use gsm/phone, reboot to recovery and flash attached vega-phone-removal.zip - saves battery

    Upgrading from older nightly?
    • Just flash latest rom from here in clockworkmod recovery
    • No need to wipe or flash gapps again, if you done on first install
    • In rare cases you will encounter bugs, noone else encounters - wipe then and do a fresh install
    • In at least 99% no wipe needed - there are known people not having wiped for at least half a year
    • Doing a nandroid backup before upgrading is always a wise idea, in case something goes wrong
    • if you dont use gsm/phone, flash attached vega-phone-removal.zip - saves battery
    • reboot to your updated rom and enjoy

    Overclocking instructions
use settings->cm settings->preformance->cpu settings to switch frequencies. optionally use setCPU and similar tools.

    USB Host mode instruction
to enable usb host mode for keyboard, mouse and other support, power device off. power it back on. once the screen gets lit, press and hold back key until device is booted (you see the homescreen or lockscreen). now you can connect various usb devices.

    clockworkmod 3 for vega
with nightly 61 and later, use rom manager to flash latest stable recovery.

    List of known bugs
This is a list of cm7 bugs specific to vega - i wont cover cm7 general bugs here, since they are covered on other places. Feel free to discuss them here, thats what this thread is for.

    • no legacy a2sd yet - working on it
    • power->reboot->recovery doesnt work and power->reboot->bootloader should be removed

    Removed Themes
To save space, we had to remove the two cm included themes. If you want them, just download them here and install like any other app.

    Removed Wallpapers
To save space, we also removed CMWallpapers app. To reinstall them on data partition, download this app and install like any other app.

    why no new nightly updates?
well, for one, bumble-bee is still figuring out the bluetooth issue. i guess he has help from fun_... i myself got sick of it and remembered, why i prefer coding instead of hardware modifying... so i start to work on tablet tweaks again... doing this, i will post a test-build each day, which is also a nightly build. was busy the last days (busy weekend), but am looking forward to code the first part on monday - then i will build test-roms for all 3 tablet devices.

so its no use to build a new nightly today?

    regards
    murdock

In the last few updates in the My Apps section it shows no downloads. If I clear data for the market in settings - Applications then its ok for a short while but they eventually dissapear again. Does this happen for everyone?

sorry, I noticed when I fixed market purchase issue, I removed necessary line :(
please try to add following line to /system/build.prop
    Code:
    ro.sf.lcd_density=161
    it should be fix asap...
    3
I hope you find some time to include the necessary code changes soon :)

    I hope the same...

Sadly the link is down for the hacked nightly, can someone upload the 3g-test release somewhere please!?
