The SD cards are a known problem Jermaine will probably solve.

The IPS+ and the performance buttons do not exist. This is an AOSP build. Not an ASUS build.

They will never be there I would imagine.

Sent through mental telepathy...or a TF201

Is there a way to quick change performance settings on of the device or do I have to always go through the extra settings menu?
Also does full brightness take advantage of the ISP+ or is it just a complete loss of a great hardware ability? Will ISP+ be used some how, it helps amazingly for making my movies look better and for doing HW in the sun...

Hi,

First thank you for your great work on this rom! I would like to mention a little bug. With dock connected using two fingers to scroll messes everything up a little. A second cursor will appear and the tab does not know which part of screen to focus while browsing on frame based websites.

Add a widget, rom control>performance.

I've noticed two things as feedback
1. The light sensor is on crack, the screen goes super bright then super dark very quickly in kind of darkish conditions
2. This is more a look and feel thing, but when opening the app drawer it's really choppy, stutters a lot

Really. I am running at 1.8/ondemand but my app drawer opening animation is smooth as can be.

I just noticed that Movie Studio is not installed with this ROM. I restored it using TBP but it does not run (It says the app is not installed). Anyone know if there is an installable apk somewhere?

For the folks with bad battery drain or SODs, try this for me and report back. Use root explorer to delete /system/etc/init.d/91modules and reboot.

Thanks.

So I just installed this and finished TB restore, and got everything setup how I like it, but I'm not finding the ISP+ button or quick performance buttons anywhere... where are they?

EDIT: Also everytime I dock and undock I get a popup error in the notification tab that says "SD Card Removed. Insert a New One" or it says "SD card corrupt, may need a reformat." (I have an MicroSD to SD Card inserted in my dock at all times..) and the only to get rid of the notification is to take out my microSD on the side and reinsert it.

If you go into system settings/mounts and storage, you can choose the SD card and unmount it, which will make it safe to eject the SD card or disconnect the dock. This is what I have been doing, because I keep an SD card in my tablet for important document backups. It works, but is not a very elegant solution... I'v been looking for an SD card unmount widget or notification option (like in stock ASUS), but no luck so far, does anyone else know of one?

Some bugs to report:

In case it's relevant, I'm running the newest build, my cpu is set to 1.6 max and .1 min, and I have that set on boot, and I increased the android open app kill to 100 MB (I hope the AOKP raise the upper limit, I'd like to have around 120 or 130). My launcher is apex and it's a system app.

(This happened three times now, so I don't think it was a fluke) When I leave my tablet docked and plug in the power cord (like before I go to sleep, or if I go to work and don't take my tablet), when I return, my tablet is off and does not respond to pressing the power button. If I hold the power button for ~10 seconds, it boots up normally.

Another problem - which is not limited to this ROM, but thought I'd report anyway - is that I often get toast notification "process android.media (or something like that) has unexpectedly stopped," which is annoying, and makes using the gallery app difficult. The only fix I have tried so far was fixing permissions in recovery, but no luck, and I'm hesitant to freeze the app because it's a system app and everything uses it and would probably brick the ROM.

I can't update empire defense, because my backup (v1.05) works but the new releases (currently v1.08, I think) force close immediatel after opening them. Again, that is not limited to this ROM; ASUS based roms don't do it, just AOSP based roms.

Overall this is my favorite prime ROM, great work jermaine :) sorry for OT and know you have your hands full as it is, but for the record, I'd love to see what you could accomplish with CM9! EDIT: today is my birthday so nobody can be angry at me for my selfish request :)

I have to quote this to ask about the ISP+ option as I didn't see this answered.

Jermaine,

If you decide to go back to the stock kernel, you might want to consider talking to Diamondback, his Virtuous ROM is able to RW NTFS. I'm not sure if you have or not, this is just in case you haven't.

Can't wait to test out your newest revision.

Finally got done reading everything....sheesh my brain hurts lol. Sounds like an awesome rom. 2 questions that still unclear for me or maybe I just overloaded my brain and I have searched also just incase i missed it but only found 1 clue for question 1.

1. Are more games compatible with this rom or whatevers available on Prime only?

2. Is OC necessary? Lots of comments about the rom being smoother than stock but not sure if its due to OC. I read a lot of talks of clocking to 1.6 and above so I figure everyone is OCing.

TIA

#1 - From my observations the market compatibility is the same as stock.
#2 - OCing is certainly not necassary. I do it because to me faster is always better and simply because I can. If a 3ghz kernel was released I'd be all over it. :)

Oh man THANK YOU. I was getting those notifications non-stop recently and they were driving me insane.

today is my birthday so nobody can be angry at me for my selfish request :)
Happy Birthday, mine was yesterday:)

Thanks! So yours is April 10th? I was actually born on April 10th too, in Australia, which was the 11th in the states, so we have the same birthday, sorta! Happy birthday man. I hardly got any happy birthdays today, and no cake, so sad. Between work and grad school, my social life is completely dead... I really need to socialize more often. And this IS on topic, because these awesome ROMs are eating up what little free time I have... jermaine and CM need to make them ****tier.

Just my $.02, I personally settled for 1.6 because the cores are designed for 1.6, so I don't consider it overclocking... I'm not too familiar with the architecture, but I think the power profiles, and the reduction to 1.3 when all four cores are in use, was just an attempt by ASUS to boost battery life.

That said, I DO care about battery life, but the difference between stock 1.3 and 1.6 has been, in my experience, completely undetectable. On certain tasks I do notice a slight speed boost though, and at times, I even crank it up to 1.8 (mostly gaming, although I don't know how much the CPU is even being used), but seeing as I don't really notice a big difference between 1.6 and 1.8, I usually stick with 1.6 and would recommend that speed to others if you're not sure what you want to use. Are we ever going to see GPU overclocking? I haven't heard anything about that, I don't even know what the GPU clock speed is.

GPL Kernel source: This ROM uses the Asus stock V9.4.2.21 kernel (unmodified) and the sources may be downloaded from here: http://support.asus.com/Download.aspx?SLanguage=en&m=Eee+Pad+Transformer+P rime+TF201&p=20&s=16

*** Disclaimer: I, nor TeamKang, nor anyone but YOU is responsible for what you flash or do to your tablet!

This is based on TeamKang's AOKP - Build 33 (Android 4.0.4).

Thanks to Romanbb and TeamKang for putting together this awesome rom.
Thanks to the CyanogenMod team for all they do.
Thanks to BuzzBumbleBee for the initial device tree for the Prime (I made a lot of changes to this)
Thanks to konrad1337 and sportsstar89 for sharing all of their fixes to the original Transformer! I couldn't have done this without them!
Thanks to _motley for his awesome kernel and for just being a good guy!
Thanks to youngnex for giving me a better solution to the CRT animation issue.

I hope I didn't forget anyone but if I did, PM me and I'll add you.

I have added in a few of the Asus widgets and applications like:

    -Weather Widget
    -Battery Widget
    -Email Widget and Email client
    -MyWater Live Wallpaper
    -SuperNote
    -Maybe more that I forgot...

Check out the ROM Feature list here.

Check out the comprehensive FAQ by brainfire!

    Bugs:
    • BT tether seems to only work for the web browser
    • 2 IME icons in the notification bar:
      • Settings-->Rom Control-->General-->Uncheck Show IME and reboot.
    • No Super IPS mode (See dalingrin's quote below)
    All this bickering about IPS+....
Its a gimmick, folks. All Asus does is artificially limit the backlight if IPS+ is disabled.
AOKP and CM9 already support all the same brightness levels and "IPS+" that stock has. The only difference is we don't limit the brightness slider. In other words, if you move the brightness slider all the way to the right in CM9 or AOKP then it is exactly the same as turning on IPS+ and moving the slider all the way to the right in stock. There's no special mode or anything like that, the panel is just especially bright.
Okay, here's the deal on some of the Asus apps (FileManager2.apk, MyZine.apk, etc). They're looking for a method in the Asus stock rom that is not there: android.os.Environment.getEpadInternalStoragePubli cDirectory

I'm not sure how I'll be able to get around this.

    installation-1.png
    1. Make sure you're on the latest TWRP or CWM recovery
    2. MAKE A NANDROID
    3. wipe data/factory reset in recovery
    4. flash ROM
    5. flash Gapps
    6. reboot
    7. If you're installing a new build without wiping, you STILL need to reflash gapps right after flashing the build!!!

On a side note: Folks, please don't PM me questions like "how do I flash this?" or "help! It won't boot!". Those questions belong in this thread. That allows other people to help you and keeps me from having to answer the same question repeatedly. My PMs are for development questions and sharing as well as for contacting testers.

    Thanks for understanding.

    • Based on AOKP build 29
    • Wifi
    • BT (Completely)
    • Keyboard Dock Soft keys

    • I really don't care about GPS since Asus doesn't :)

2 IME icons in tray. Settings-->Rom Control-->General-->Uncheck Show IME and reboot.

You asked, I listened and I answered. I made this rom my biotch!

    Happy Good Friday!
