Htc hasn't made a new phone in a year. Every "new" phone they release is an exact copy of a previous phone with the exact same snapdragon garbage. The snapdragon is a joke compared to the hummingbird SoC. Try playing an mkv or avi file on any htc phone. They can't play smoothly at all. Not enough power. Try playing a game like dungeon defenders on any htc phone. Atrocious. Give me a plastic outside and ridiculous internals over a "solid" outside and **** internals anyday.

Mmmmm boy. Only hope it actually is better than EB13 and that SprintID is optional or at least doesn't gimp the thing. Haven't even tried EB13.

Yes a link would be nice,
Time for round 2 sprint and samsung hopefully the fix the bluetooth problems and what not..

I cant believe if this is true we will have to wait around again :( for themes to get ported and roms, however i dont think it will be near as hard considering we are already on on official froyo.

the big difference is they are eliminating touchwiz and replacing it with sprint id, essentially vanilla froyo appearance with the option to switch between preset and user customized themes similar to htc scenes

Im sure there will be a new modem meaning improvements on the radio, hopefully and as well as some minor bug fixes like bluetooth..

Any print screen shot yet? it will prevent you from getting flamed or attacked by people.. just saying...

Are you sure you used ODIN right? Get the ext4 version of EB13 with 3.0.0.6 prerooted. the thread should be in development...Now you have froyo...

Try deleting ".md5" from the file name and odin again. Also, viper and frozen are two different roms ;)

Samsung Android 2.3 update coming? latest: EC05! [RUMOR THREAD]

There usually 2 development circles one is finishing froyo testing because communication: Testing and finding bugs and fixing can take a long time.
Right now they are finished with froyo, They will allocate full time working on gingerbread!

http://device.sprintpcs.com/Samsung/SPH-D700/EB17.rdf can possibly be gingerbread, in their spare time, they could be working on another release

Ok, based on a few suggestions, I am starting this thread as an Android 2.2 rumor thread for the Epic 4G. This is to be the ONLY thread complaining, whining, commenting, or asking about 2.2 on the Epic! Report all other threads about 2.2 rumors on the Epic and I'll merge them into this one. Also, repeat offenders who make more then one new thread about 2.2 outside this one will be infracted/and or banned for trolling. Thank you for your cooperation, and happy posting ;)

2.2 is sluggish. iOS is a lot more better. Hope they fix it in 2.3.

I received some information today that I am going to share with you guys. I don't know how good the information is but that is for you guys to decide.

I was speaking with a Sprint employee today and I was telling him how aggravated I was about the whole Epic situation. We talked about Froyo being released for the Epic today, and I mentioned Gingerbread. He said that Sprint is supposed to be receiving Gingerbread from Samsung in April, but that is really hush hush. He then quickly changed the subject, and his inflections almost seemed to me like he felt he shouldn't have said that.

    Anyway, there you go.
