Sense 2.1 Rom, This one is a direct port of the Facebook phone, Salsa.
The Salsa has the Same Screen Size as the Espresso (3.4 in).

*WARNING* DO NOT install any kernels other than the ones provided by NBetcher. This Rom was built on 2.6.35.10. No other kernels work with this Rom at this time.

Since the rom is still a Beta version there are going to be issues.

Does this actually work in portrait? And did you edit vold.fstab for it to mount usb? :p Just wondering, I'm doing something important with my phone and don't want to nandroid and flash just to have to restore back.

I thought it already came with the wildfire rom.

EDIT: So I just had this idea, cause I had been trying to take the 3.0 lockscreen and add it to the wildfire rom... Could we take the one from here and put it in other "ginger sense"(well really, just the wildfire, since the chacha has it) roms? Since the resolution is the same.

Of course... at the same time... why wouldn't I just use this? Haha. xP

Looking forward to it! I'm downloading at the moment. I'll see if I can fix any issues (Doubt it though, :( we have no gingerbread kernel source from HTC) and if I do, I'll send you the fixes so you can include them in your updates.

Thanks a ton for the help.
I think between the Wildfire S rom and this one we can make a combined Gingerbread Sense rom with the best of all the features.
I will say I like the messaging app on here it's nicer than the older HTC and Google ones

Is it kind of laggy for anyone else? I was thinking it would be as quick as the Wildfire ROM, but I get a lot of hang ups. Especially with that Favorite people widget. Getting a few force closes here and there too.(Superuser among a few other things)

Other than that it's great though. Loving the lockscreen and the messaging app like mentioned earlier.

I know it's an alpha, so I'm not expecting perfection. I know that it can only get better from here. :D

Flashed, taking a whiiiiile to boot, but checked with logcat and its not bootlooping. But it's been about 15 minutes haha. The suspense is killing me.

^Are you overclocking? The Salsa's stock frequency is 800Mhz, so you should be OCing around there. I'm not 100% because I'm still waiting for it to finish booting up, but I'm pretty sure he used the CM7 kernel so OC should be built in already.

I'm still in the setup screen and I already love this ROM. That lockscreen is great. Thank you so much!

OCed with the kernel that was included, then I installed drowning child's and set it at 825. It's running about how I had it with the wildfire rom.

After a few restarts, I'm getting a little more fluidity.

Edit: I think it was the fav. widget, just not liking having to load.

This is (as far as I know) the 1st released Rom leaked from htc. so as such it's VERY much in progress. The apps are very few so there's actually little bloatware.

    This is a mostly bare sense rom as is. I had to take some stuff to get it to fit in the space I was allowed. If anyone is refering to the Mirror app. There is no way to get rid of it since it's tied to the camera app. This summer if there is still demand I'll see about doing an update. Time is low for me at the moment. Also, I don't have a 3G Slide anymore neither does NB. But If there is still demand for an update I'll try to grab one for a short while.

    Edit: Also somethings can't be fixed at all. Due to lack of source/propriatary things. (Wifi Tether being one)

    Quick update:
    Superuser might be fixed. It's getting the test now. If so the flashable patch will be posted soon and I'll post a Beta 2.0.1 for those that might be joining us for the 1st time.

    EDIT:
    Plan B, Uploading 2.0.1 now. No Patch. Sorry you'll need to wipe and load. Hope to get 2.1 as an update possibly (no promises).

    And a sad note, my myTouch 4G died today so until I get it replaced updates may be slow since the Slide will be my Primary Phone again.

    By all means please use ThEuNdYiNg1's ROM. He has used Salsa Slide 1.00 as a base starting point and will be continuing from there. At some point his ROM was going to far exceed this one so I felt that for the greater good it would be better to give him our work that way everyone can have a more complete and perfect ROM. Plus the added bonus is unlike T-Mobile you aren't abandoned to live with the ridiculous Froyo OTA.
