Samsung Galaxy S II I9100

Hi guys, this is the development forum for CYANOGENMOD 11 for the Samsung Galaxy S II .
First of all I want to mention that I am not affiliated with CyanogenMod. I did not compile anything.
This topic is in Development Section because it is OFFICIALY supported from the Cyanogenmod Team.
I created the topic because there wasn't an official one related to the rom and also I do not take any credits.
All Credits go to the CyanogenMod Team.

Code:
 * Your warranty is now void.
 * Me / CM Team are not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
 * thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
 * do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
 * before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
 * you point the finger at any of us for messing up your device, we will laugh at you.
 * Collectively, and at the same time.

Recursive locking ... Dunno what it is bt is the reason for lagginess of official nightly (infected was smart enough to skip the related commit ;) )
So today's nightly will be awesome..

    My best SGS-II (I9100)

    Dear All
    I've been using my SGS-II (I9100) since almost 2 years now and I think it's still good to go for an additional one. Nevertheless I would like to share some of my experience. And please: It is still worth to read the posts within the treads before asking silly questions. I can't recommend to try all the things which seems to be possible without some basic Linux skills and some knowledge about the usage of CWM or TWRP, Heimdall or Odin and ADB.

    1. First off all I have re-partitioned my I9100 with a pit-file (1GB System, 3GB Data) from here:
    > Samsung Galaxy S II I9100 > Galaxy S II Android Development > [MOD][GUIDE]Partition your internal memory for better App management (Pit Files)
    <LINK>
    <Post #509>

    2. Second, I've formatted both SD cards, sdcard0 (internal) and sdcard1 (external), with the ext4 file format:
    > Android Development and Hacking > Android General > [Guide] Format in ext4 internal memory and keep data
    <LINK>
    <Post #6>

    3. And third, I always use and install the latest CM11 nightlies for my I9100 from here:
    > Samsung Galaxy S II I9100 > Galaxy S II Android Development > [ROM] [DISCUSSION] Official CyanogenMod 11 Nightlies [4.4.4] [GT-I9100]
    <LINK>

    4. Because the latest GAPPS packages linked in the OP at the CM11 thread are to BIG, I've started using the PA GAPPS >MICRO MODULAR PACKAGE< together with the >PA GAPPS REMOVER< from here:
    > Custom ROM Central > Paranoid Android > General Paranoid Android Discussion > [GAPPS][4.4.x] OFFICIAL Up-to-Date PA-GOOGLE APPS (All ROM's) [2014-08-18]
    <LINK>
    The following packages I have removed because I use other tools:
    MMS, Pico, Studio, GNow, Search, Gmail, Email, Exchange, NewsWidget, FaceUnlock, Sunbeam, Browser

    5. And currently I use Gustavo's kernel as of 12.07.2014 with CWM:
    > Samsung Galaxy S II I9100 > Galaxy S II Android Development > [KERNEL][CWM/TWRP][21/06]Kernel for AOSP ROMs with synapse support
    <LINK>

    The result is an quiet old Android phone performing very well and reliable, except for gaming. Regards, .

    You should not mix nightlies with M-releases!!!

    Why don't you guys underatand that simple fact? :rolleyes: It's been told many times and it's even on the official CM blog.

    Why would you switch to an M-build when you are on a nightly....it's a downgrade.

    Stop complaining if you don't know how this works......
