but if someone also gets errors like pictured by me: try a heatgun on the board

and for some reason, flashtool always hung up either on rpm.sin or fotkernel.sin, but flashed anything else fine when deselecting the mentioned. so i took your z1c_testpoint.file for s1 tool and replaced the *.sin with my own, then flashed them via testpoint method too - done.

fixed it myself,

Hi! Yesterday I done stupid thing to my phone which hard bricked my phone :( Played with GPT gdisk, restored wrong gpt backup which killed my device, phone was dead after reboot, had no fastboot, had no bootloader, only had led blinking red-green . But good news I have repaired my phone sucesfully ! Was a bit lucky since I saved my GPT backup so after unbricking I restored my GPT, than restored TA, rebooted and flashed everything normaly. Device finaly booted :highfive: :D

WARNING TO ALL:
1. DO NOT PLAY WITH FDISK OR GDISK IF YOU NOT KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING SINCE YOUR DEVICE WILL BE HARD BRICKED !!! If you mess your gpt table or change them your device can not be flashed using pc companion or flashtool!!! If you brick gpt table than you will notice hard brick, so my segestion is: do not be stupid like me!!! I was very stupid yesterday and done very bad thing to my new phone using these tools.

@munjeni - quick question, (I know you're busy with poc these days)... What are signs of this kind of hard brick? I bought a broken Z1c from eBay to get a part, but want to try to restore. It has no fastboot or flash mode, just solid red led when plugged in. I'm wondering if it's just a bad battery. Any way to test? I tried S1 tool, but doesn't detect phone, but I might not be connecting properly..
Thanks

Hi munjeni I have to grab to this old post because I made the silly error of installing on a Z1C a TWRP backup made from another Z1C forgetting to disable the TA… so the TA is now corrupt! Having a TA backup of the bricked phone does it make sense to try to recover it following your instructions (testpoints, s1tool etc) or ist it senseless because the motherboard is damaged?
Many thanks for your help

Hi kontiki2000,
If I remember well, I did the same mistake. And I did successfully restore my phone, so I think you can try the procedure to restore your TA backup. It should work.
Good luck
Regards

Hi toanvd, and thanks for your fast reply. As you already proceeded on this path would you care to point me to the exact tutorial you followed … I’m a bit confused because everybody seems to tell the same things but on a different way. Another question I only have windows 10 on a second partition alongside linux, will those tools work with it?
Thank you

Hi,
I'm on my phone so a little bit difficult to search. But check my different posts on how I proceed. Just follow the initial procedure posted by the creator of this discussion to connect the testpoints, you may need to remove some glue on one of the points, that was my case, to be able to get a contact.
Then just searched my old posts, you should be able to continue without problems.
If you face any issues or questions. I'll try to answer as soon as possible

Hi toanvid and sorry for replying so late, I was quite busy. In the end I succeeded in restoring my Z1C following your instructions but only after some failed attempts since, as I said, I only have access to a win10 machine and so I had to work around some problems such as the necessary drivers. Thank you again

I think munjeni is left android, but if anyone read my issue and can help, please reply me. I am familiar with s1tool from Sony Ericsson days. and can unlock bootloader by test point.
Now, my Z1 Compact is bricked when I restored ta backup with "ta backup and restore tool". Can't boot no fastboot, no flashmode. Only red blink when connect with usb. Can't enter in emergency mode. I have tried many time but no luck. With battery attached connect to laptop get notification usb device connect and disconnect automatic in laptop.
What to do get phone boot?

I think you need to retest with your ta backup. But if it's not well saved, I think you can't do anything (if I understood well from munjeni) as each ta is proper for each phone...
Just a reminder from old post, here are the step :
1 - copy your ta.emmc.win from a TWRP backup you've done, and rename it to TA.img
2 - convert it with ta_gen tool (ta_gen.bat)
3 - you'll get a generated file : TA_unbrick.SIN_FILE_SET
4 - run s1tool.exe, select S1 emergency mode, check retain user data (if you want to try to keep your data) and FLASH, and choose this generated file TA_unbrick.SIN_FILE_SET when asked

Hope you'll succeed to boot it

Have you tried to connect USB Cable and try to soft reset with pushing for 10-15 sec the little red button in the sim slot?

Locked ~ Unlocked by test point?

You state at the top of the page that you unlocked bootloader with the test point. Is this true?

I have found some threads about bricked trim area (TA) ... it is possible to restore ta backup(of course if you have original ta backup)! I will make tool soon! ;)
    2
Probably he bricked his trim area? If that is true than probably his phone will remain bricked! :( Only way (not tested) to unbrick (first thing he need before full unbrick) his trim area is to make ftf file which will contain ta.img, but ta.img can not be DD method backup (mean ta backuped by trim area partition dump maded by dd command), he must have ta.img maded by flash tool since only flash tool can make these ta.img speciific format! If he have no ta.img maded by flash tool than probably hi must convert his ta backup to these specific format, I can not help in that since never converted that and have no idea how to convert that, he must analyse by self. Bricking trim area is very dangerous and probably phone get totaly bricked without a way for unbricking (I never done that so I can not confirm for sure these thing)! His errors in s1tool flashing procedure probably coming up with reason (trim area brick)?
